Is the Preppy/Sloane/old money look in?

Read the preppy, sloane/old money look is in, but can’t see it anywhere?

Any examples? Is it ‘in’?

I see it all over instagram but that’s probably just the echo chamber I’m in. I don’t necessarily “see” it in shops/on the street but then I’m not looking out for it.

What is it your looking for? To see if it’s popular? To get ideas for outfits?

tbh I think now more than ever there’s more variety and acceptance in fashion!

Curious to see what it ‘looks like’ & if I then, revamp anything I own. Thanks

It's the same as it ever was : all the glossy expensive stuff. Cashmere, linen the occasional varsity esque jumper

As above, quite monochrome, high quality materials expensive cuts and brands. Lots of white. Accessories such as big headbands, hats, blazers, boots

Girls in peals, green and pink, madras shorts

Pearls even

Very boring look IMO

It always seems to look a bit try hard, a sort of visible 'class insecurity'.
I think the whole tory look itself is becoming a bit dated/vulgar in a world of climate change and economic fear.

Is there a diff between classic, well cut, pearls, built to endure & ostentatious ‘Sloane’?

Don't know about sloaney but I recently had to get my teen daughter a "preppy" costume for a show and there seemed to be quite a bit in the shops to choose from. I got her a pleated checked mini skirt and a sleeveless jumper to wear over a white shirt. Cher from Clueless sort of style.

I don’t know about sloany, but I’m in a rich foreign city at the moment, the predominant look is baggy in cream or black and tight in cream or black, maybe livened up with labels, Balenciago seems to be popular. It all looks rather dreary.
