I need a carryon on hand luggage

We go on holiday next week. I've had a lovely cath Kitson weekend bag for years but we last went away in 2019. I've been using it to carry my marking from work and it is looking past its best.
I want a roomy bag that is pretty too. Any suggestions?

Also the Kipling Large Art Tote is a good shout. I've used it as my carry on, and also another friend used it as her carry on for a long haul flight earlier this year and came back singing its praises.

I like this - does it keep its shape or does it fold flat?

@uniform It was folded flat when it came but is structured when opened out.

am obsessed with this one I bought for my DD which is exact Ryanair allowance to the mm.

It would help if you said which airline you are travelling with, so we know what size, and do you have separate luggage, so this is for handbag type of stuff?

Which airline? Do you mean 'small carry on' or 'large carry on'?

Are you wanting it as large as possible so you can take everything and no hold luggage or are you just wanting a smaller bag just for in flight essentials?

Any preferences re cross body, 'tote bag' or rucksack style?

The Tripp one linked to above by @NeedWineNow is lovely. I have a very old Tripp bag in a similar style to that, which I mainly use for swimming/spa and its still in excellent condition even though it is probably 20 years old.

Sorry to hijack but do any of you lovely people know of a small carry on bag with wheels and a sleeve to fit over a larger case?

Op check out Mia Tui - they have loads of bags, including lots that have an integrated bit so you can slide the bag over handles of a wheelie suitcase.
They are really well designed with plenty of pockets, they have a bright lining so it’s easier to find things and the website and face book pages have lots of photos and little video clips showing how well they fit into the baggage size boxes at the airport for different airlines.
Some of the bags are ‘proper’ bags, whereas others are ones that fold down small (but still have the slip over handles facility. They also have useful packing cubes and sponge bags that have lots of spaces for your toiletries or make up or even for keeping cables and chargers organised (I might have several of these and have also given them as Christmas presents very successfully over the years!).

Not very padded on back to allow more space but straps are quite padded and comfy, adjustable, etc Our one is 20l without wheels, the other is 30l I think.

Be careful with this one, it’s bigger than Ryanair’s underseat allowance which is currently 40 x 20 x 25cm. EasyJet’s allowance is 45 x 36 x 20 so ok.

Folds flat. I have both sizes and they are fantastic, i have used them for so many journeys and they still look as good as new. Buy from Tripp or Amazon has they are often on sale.

I got this for a recent holiday. I flew with Tui and it fitted under the seat perfectly. It’s made of some magical material so even though it’s cream nothing seems to mark it. I’ve been using it lots and it looks brand new, spills just bounce of it.
it has loads of space, good pockets and a trolley sleeve. I’m a bit obsessed with the brand, I have my eye on a sling bag and a mini weekender. They’re all gorgeous and come in lots of colours.
