Do any of you have use an at home laser hair removal device?

I am very tempted but they are expensive! I am looking at this one:

Are any of the cheaper ones on Amazon as good?

Also I am hoping to get pregnant in the next few months so might be no point in starting. I am not sure I can keep it up when pregnant.

Me too @mogtheexcellent ! I didn’t look at any others, did loads of research into the lumea and went with that one today. I’m so excited to receive it!
Thanks to everyone’s input on this thread and the reminder about Amazon prime day 👍

This is a bit of a side question, I have a Lumea and haven't used it that much as i find the flash of light so bright when I use it I worry about my eyes. Am I doing something wrong, or does anyone wear protective glasses when they use theirs?

blotchyredanditichy · 11/07/2023 14:18

I am so confused by all the different lumeas- is it a case of newer model is better or not?

My friend wears her sunglasses doing her legs. I don't bother, I'm usually watching something on tv.

Does the Lumea work on stubborn chin hairs? I have to pluck every day and it's driving me mad! And - the key thing - does it hurt...?

I want to know the answer to this too.

I use mine on my stubborn chin hears and it's reduced them massively - they are much finer now and the numbers have decreased. I don't don't find painful at all.

It is very confusing isn't it! I think some have extra parts such as a wide head/ narrow head for doing different areas.

Worked on mine - although in some cases they're growing back white? It's amazing though. Life changing.

I've ordered the Braun one on Amazon prime day. It's retail therapy. Hope it can handle all my hairiness!

BeverlyBrook · 13/07/2023 22:52

IPL feels like an elastic band pinging on your skin. It's basically fine.
Way less painful than epilation or waxing.

It's not Lazer though, you can only do that at a salon.

I did IPL and Lazer. The Lazer worked much better on me. But I reckon if you do the IPL weekly you will get the same result in a longer time frame.

BeverlyBrook · 13/07/2023 22:52

Definitely go for corded, you want the maximum zap!

42coats · 13/07/2023 23:00

@MrsMaudeLebowski I briefly close my eyes when I press the button so I'm not looking at the light

@op they're amazing, get one. I bought mine on humm over three months, interest free. As with others I was very lazy and I've only the odd leg hair now, underarms are hair free and I've a perfect bikini line.

Trickofthetrade · 13/07/2023 23:16

What's the recommendation about using during summer months? Is it ok to go out in sun in the days following usage ?

megletthesecond · 14/07/2023 08:09

trick I've tried to avoid zapping around sunny days just in case. Although I started the regime in the December so my legs were already used to the lumea by the time summer arrived. It took over a year to really work.
