Has anybody tried the Merwaves method? Hesitant to spend over £60 on this ...

@SoberCurious2 thanks for your post, sorry to hear Merwaves didn't work for you.

I'm going on holiday tomorrow and ended up buying Frizz Ease Dream Curls shampoo and conditioner to take with me and am planning on just letting it air dry and see what happens. Also got some curling jelly to rub into my hair too. Will see how it goes....

Thanks to you all for taking the time to reply.

Yeah that's about where I am. I'm just not interested enough to spend ages over it, and yet at the same time, know that I always look a bit of a mess!! I'm just so much not a morning person, which is hard with curly hair. I don't have to wash it every day though, so that part of it wouldn't be a problem for me, but it's just figuring out what to do with it on any day after i've slept - it can look OK if it's curly on the day I wash it, sometimes, but I so rarely ever wash it in the morning.

I don't do anything with mine in the morning. Use a satin/silk pillowcase and pineapple it right on top of my head with a satin scrunchie
Take it down in the morning and let it settle (important!) then if I need to, I glaze a tiny bit of curl cream/serum/something over it

ah. Mine seems much worse than that in the mornings!! Even with satin bonnets etc.

How do you deal with showers with it?

I wish I could wash it in the evenings but there isn't enough time for it to air dry or even diffuse it properly, and then it would probably be even worse in the mornings. But even if I did manage to wash it occasional mornings, I'm not sure what it would do the next few days. It seems to wave nicely apart from the ends, which always just seem to hang there rattily, even when freshly trimmed.

My hair has very gentle waves naturally (between 2A and 2B), and none of the CGM/wavy methods suit it. At all. My hair hates product being left in it. I use silicone free conditioner.

My hairdresser has cut my hair so that I can dry it straight and the day after it does its own gentle wave thing and I don't have to do anything to it. I seriously cannot be arsed to fit any more than a couple of minutes with the hairdryer into my 5.30 am morning routine!
