if you saw my legs ddg, you'd know why lol

pukkapatch · 23/02/2008 12:57

crem, i wouldnt wear it, as i like showing some cleavage, but i can think of many people who would wear somethign like that as it covers them up, and they like prints.
delgirl, that skirt is gorgeous.

pukkapatch · 23/02/2008 12:58

high heels or boots

Tutter · 23/02/2008 12:58

dg, i'm unsure

part of thinks it's gopping, tbh

but part of me thinks it's vaguely reminiscent of a funky boden print

it would be the rest of the outfit that would decide whether that skirt tipped towards GOP or NOT on the tutter patented gopometer

delgirl (hey that's IT - youy are the demographic - only people with initials DG) - it's just ok for me dawg (sorry been watching too much american idol)

Cremola, you are going camping I suspect. It is a wear-and-sleep-under garment.

cremolafoam · 23/02/2008 13:00

pukka i understand the arm covering thing (the world rarely sees mine)but honestly that kaftan is horrid.there are so many other places doing very nice long sleeved tunics or blouses.i thinkit is the colourways at per una thatdo nothing for me.

DumbledoresGirl · 23/02/2008 13:01

Well, having absolutely no idea about style at all, when I bought the skirt, I bought the jumper and jacket that they had it with on the dummy. (Beige jumper and brown corduroy jacket). I wear it with long brown boots. At the moment, being a complete clothes slob, it is the nicest outfit I have in my wardrobe.

Flllightattendant · 23/02/2008 13:02

It's one of those shops where you walk past a rail, see a perfectly pleasant plain brown skirt, think 'Ooh!' and then you take it off the rail and turn it round, and it hasd a HUGEEEEE crochet lime and pink peony stuck on the front. Like a sort of disease has struck or something.

Why?

Greensleeves · 23/02/2008 13:03

I am rolling off my chair at Tut's links, Greeny. Cruel we might be but blimey. I like the skirt/jacket combo, Delgirl, that's really inoffensive. It's a shame they don't push that normal, nicer stuff rather than the hideous brown swirly prints.

BroccoliSpears · 23/02/2008 13:07

I LOVE per una.

Tutter · 23/02/2008 13:08

rofl at flightatten
especially the sleeping bag to campsite cafe
chic

Flllightattendant · 23/02/2008 13:14

When I was five, my mum had several umbrellas. I have found prints resembling each of them here.

This was 1978.
M&S wonder where they are going wrong.

Goppolispears, I heart you

cremolafoam · 23/02/2008 13:18

perhaps it is a cunning plan to make you buy more chicken kiev.you are meant to just bypass the peruna stuff at speed a get ye immediately to the chiller fridge.

Tutter · 23/02/2008 13:19

yes your eyes have swirly patterns in front of them so you accidentally knock a lobster into your basket inthe food hall

Lots of those skirts were very Bodenesque I thought - particularly the circle/applique hem ones and the knee-length black skirt with white embroidery hem.

cremolafoam - in that yellow garment you could only be going to an aspiring suburb of the 70's?

I have found the per una demograpghic

they sit in front of me at choir

PrincessPeaHead · 23/02/2008 14:11

The whole of M&S needs torching and starting again

apart from food, obv

knickers have been crappy for ages, nightwear is like wandering into a horror movie - all wincyette old lady nightdresses or else nightshirts with winnie the pooh etc on them - I mean who BUYS that stuff let alone WEARS it in BED. Children's stuff is just insulting and everything else has a revolting print or a revolting fabric or both AND is badly cut to boot.

Actually their cashmere can be OK, I'd save that from the fire.

PrincessPeaHead · 23/02/2008 14:12

lolololol at choir

YES! front row of the sopranos. They aren't sopranos, but they are damned if they are going to sit in the altos because then they wouldn't be able to sing the TUNE.

I bet they wear the nightwear too.

MrsBadger · 23/02/2008 14:17

oh these are altos

they are 50+, won't wear trousers
think they look arty and bohemian in per una stuff
often add a 'daring' corsage, hat, earrings etc
ride bicycles in long skirts

many have long hair, either loose and witchy or chignoned into a handcarved ethnic clip

god I love Oxford
