Cleavage and wedding guest dress help!

I have a wrap front dress for a wedding this week and the dress does fit me however, having just tried it on, the front is bothering me and needs to be more secure, I'll be bothered about flashing all day! It feels like it just needs sticking in place. Or is there some kind of underwear/lace thing I can wear under it? I really can't spend money or time/stress looking at another dress when this one just needs holding in place or making more decent. I'm stressing! Any ideas for something that can go underneath it or something that can hold in place?

They clip to your bra strap

Lagershandy · 27/06/2023 15:23

Or 'modesty buttons' ( I know it sounds like something from the Victorian era). They are like a big earring that fastens the gap together, they are sold on Amazon.

OP pin the left side to your bra under the wrap.. so the right wrap covers it.

Bilingualspingual · 27/06/2023 15:33

There is also ‘tit tape’, double sided sticky tape. That works well.

Or just wear a very thin vest?

CoolShoeshine · 27/06/2023 15:48

I’ve used superglue with good success for this purpose in the past! Only on thick, dark material though as it might seep through otherwise.

I've sone wrap tops and if I want to reduce the cleavage on display I just use a brooch to keep the top from gaping or put a safety pin on the inside.

VanCleefArpels · 27/06/2023 19:03

Tiny safety pin on the inside or crop top/ vest

CallingElfRescue · 27/06/2023 19:23

Thanks so much everyone! I've got safety pins ready and I'll try a vest, I think I have one somewhere.

You can sew a couple of stitches in place to make sure it doesn't gape open

I use a tiny safety pin in some of my blouses too

WhereAreWeNow · 28/06/2023 09:47

I use a safety pin. Or a v plain slip from M&S - added advantage is your knickers are covered if the bottom of the wrap dress blows open (a very real hazard of wrap dresses IME).

My mum came to the rescue with her sewing kit!

I have very small gold broach that I use for exactly this. Not a broach wearer otherwise
