Wide leg trousers not made from polyester, viscose or linen

Right I know this is asking for the impossible but here goes. I have these great trousers from Zara

https://www.zara.com/gb/en/share/-p04043330.html?v1=277650496&utmcampaign=productShare&utmmmedium=mobilesharinggiOS&utmsource=reddsocialmovil
But they seem to trap all the heat in my body due to the viscose content I think

And these fab trousers from Sezane

www.sezane.com/en/product/loulou-trousers/vintage-blue

But they cease like mad and I sweat in them due to the viscose and linen in them.
So I'm looking for lovely wide leg trousers for summer but I have no idea what fabric I should be looking for. I'm presuming cotton won't flow nicely and just stick out?
Help!

Linen doesn't make you sweat more. It's actually better for absorption and your sweat is evaporate more quickly. It's the fanfic of choice in many hot countries.

Cotton is actually worse for hot weather.

Maybe go for 100% linen and embrace the worn in look.

pharmachameleon · 26/06/2023 09:49

Yes I definitely feel cooler in linen but hate looking like an old dishrag!

Anyone found any linen wide legged trousers that aren't itchy? And don't require a second mortgage to buy?

I don't find the muji ones itchy but I don't know whether they are considered reasonably priced for linen.

OP, if you definitely can’t wear them, find a local tailor and they’ll take it apart and recreate them for you. You’ll probably have to buy the fabric (£15/metre and no more than 2 metres needed) but you’ll have a blueprint to use over and over again.

Having lived in the tropics for almost a decade, I’d say light cotton all the way. Linen is just too high maintenance- creases, doesn’t dry well, can be too heavy. Fat face used to have some lovely light cotton trousers, but I’m hunting for some this summer too and can’t find much.

Thanks all. @thedevilinablackdress these look nice and airy but I'm probably looking for smarter trousers. I don't think the trousers I want exist!

@Itisyourturntowashthebath no I haven't tried Lyocell I don't think. I'm have a look.
And those M&S ones look nice but yes probably not smart enough.

It’s the polyester in the Zara pair that’s causing the problem, I wouldn’t write off viscose. Viscose/linen blend creases less than 100% linen.

H&M’s cotton culottes are nice

@MadeInChorley love that jumpsuit
