Hiya

im toying with buying some of these for summer/ beach etc but I have a really high instep, has anyone else who has the same got any and would you recommend? Is there give? Thanks!

I don’t have a high instep but do have these shoes. My feet are quite flat (according to physio) and I find they don’t have much arch support compared with my regular Birkenstocks. I also feel like my feet list to the right in them.

They are comfy for pottering around - would be perfect for the beach - but I wouldn’t want to walk far in them. Because they are plastic I find my feet rub/move around if they get at all sweaty.

I have a high instep and bought my first Arizonas in 1992, been wearing that style ever since! I recently went on a city break and walked around 25,000 steps a day with no issue.

I have some of the single strap ones which I live in, and a pair of double normal cork ones which rubbed a bit recently but going to go for them I think- thank you!

Sorry, last question, did you go for your normal size?

ive sized down in all my birkenstocks ive bought a 5 when im normally a 6 and they fit fine
if your not sure go into a shop like schuh where you can try them on
the evas dont need breaking in like the normal birks do

The plastic ones? I live in them in the summer, absolutely love them. They feel better on my instep than the normal ones.

They’re plastic so they don’t give but they adjust with buckles and I would be surprised if you couldn’t get them open enough. They are great for beach and pootling around at home and I find them very comfortable. Not sure I would walk very long distances in them.

I size down in all of my Birkenstocks-I’m a standard 5 but buy a 37. In the rubber ones, I had to buy a 38 so think they are more true to size.

I size down on all Birkenstocks provided I get the regular fit and not narrow fit.
