When you buy something vinted and the fit is way off

but the item is the "correct" size by label. What do you do?

I've bought a jumpsuit in my usual size from the shop I but most of my clothes from. It's arrived and I can't even get it over my top half and the legs are so cropped they finish just under my knees (and I'm only 5.4!).

There was no mention in the listing of it being small fitting. It's not petite sizing. Photo was of a black jumpsuit hanging on a door so proportion issues weren't obvious. Seller mentions having worn it before so she must have been aware it was not a standard size 14.

Do I just accept that this is the risk we take with Vinted and wang it in the charity shop bag? Or do I bring it up with the seller? It was cheap but not that cheap for something I can't wear (£15).

That’s clearly the risk… just realist it

HundredMilesAnHour · 23/06/2023 16:55

That's the risk you take.

FiloPasty · 23/06/2023 16:55

I say just relist it, that’s Vinted really

You suck it up and sell it on.

LegendsBeyond · 23/06/2023 16:56

Sell it on. That’s part of the risk with Vinted.

LividHot · 23/06/2023 16:58

Relist it with a clear description.

"Label says 14, but I'm normally a 14 and it doesn't do up on me, so more like a 12 I'd say."

thedevilinablackdress · 23/06/2023 16:58

Not something you can bring up with the seller. Women's sizing is notoriously random.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/06/2023 16:59

It is really cheeky to contact the seller over that. You should have requested sizes. Its not their fault.

latetothefisting · 23/06/2023 17:03

Agree with everyone else. It's happened to me so I know it's annoying but that's the risk of vinted.

Yes sometimes sellers write "small for a size 14" or whatever in the description but there's no obligation to.

plus there's no such thing as a "standard" size 14 - sizing can be all over the place in the same shop.

you could try mentioning it to the seller but realistically they are unlikely to offer a refund and they would be under no obligation to do so.

JeminaSunshine · 23/06/2023 17:21

You can message the seller but vinted is pretty clear that something not fitting isn't a reason to allow a return.

Sizes are so fucked up I have clothes from size 8-14 and they all fit me 🤷🏼‍♀️

Definitely this

And yes, as per pp it's the risk you take.

This is why I'm don't often buy on Vinted as despite what everyone says about the bargains to be had, items like the one you've described, while the seller absolutely isn't to blame, soon start to add up cost wise so it starts to verge on false economy in d your unlucky

Circethemagician · 23/06/2023 17:39

I’ve had this, but have just relisted with a more realistic description of sizing and maybe even measurements.

AreolaGrande · 23/06/2023 17:45

Will relist with measurements.

Thanks all.

Just relist

I bought a vintage silk designer shirt - vintage sizes were so much smaller - it said size 14 but was more like a 10. I just relisted it saying although label
Said 14 it was more like a 10 - I got more for it than I paid and buyer was thrilled with it .

quirkychick · 23/06/2023 17:51

I always ask for measurements before buying as sizing is so random.

Divebar2021 · 23/06/2023 17:54

I bought an M&S jumpsuit which was absolutely way off being the right size. My thought is it’s been shrunk in the wash and they’re off loading it. It’s annoying but a reminder I should ask for measurements.

sallysaysrelax23 · 23/06/2023 18:00

Yep I've had this a few times and it's annoying but not much you can do if it's been listed as the same size on the label. I do make a point of mentioning it in feedback though.

Hopingforno2in2023 · 23/06/2023 18:07

I just sell it on and make sure to mention the sizing issue in the listing
