Need a simple summer black dress for evening

I have looked a millions of dresses on line and just can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I'm 46, over weight, size 18. I have managed to lose 3st but the weight is def on my stomach and I have some over hang.

I usually wear dresses as trousers just don't suit me, but don't like fussy dresses with frills of puffy sleeves etc.

I am looking for a nice black dress that I can wear for going out when on a city break to Barcelona in the evening that can be dressed up with jewellery & shoes to meld it more going out type of dress. But the dress needs to be a Cotton or natural materia thanks to peri menopause and ideally sleeveless, and most importantly something like a fit & flare style that for does not cling to my stomach but accentuates my waist.
Thanks to excercise I think my legs are ok so happy to wear a dress above the knee.

I do like the style in the photo but it's not in my size and also 100% polyester

This is quite flattering - not too pouffy either on sleeve or too much fabric in the skirt. and low back and neckline made it cool. I'm similar size to you

Your problem is there is no such thing in black because its summer and no one in their right mind wears black summer dresses, I'm podgy and bought 2 stunning wrap dresses from next lovely colours, look great on any figure, stop wearing black for gods sake

Hi, I’ve worn this today, in this heat. With a long necklace (chunky pendant) and big matching earrings. It’s the racer back that makes it feel more special. Felt Uber comfy and stylish.
PS am also peri, and with big thighs. I’m abdoskutley addicted to antichafe shorts, to stop the chub rub. I’ve avoided dresses bc or years due to being a bit sweaty and hating the rub, and these shorts have opened back up summer dresses to me! I have the super thin ones you get in a two pack from M&S. not the slimming ones as they’re a bit tighter and so make me hotter. Theses are just super thin and slippery. Highly recommend

What about a linen shirt dress? If you splash out and buy good quality linen with a bit of weight to it, it will have the right sort of creases rather than look crumpled.

I have a dress from DP that is over 20 years old now, I wore it on Saturday and it looks as fab as ever. It's polyester jersey so hangs beautifully and doesn't crease. It wasn't very expensive even back then. Sleeveless. It even stretched a bit when I was going through menopause and gained weight so I could still wear it then. My perfect LBD TBH. Hope you find something similar! Peri or not, I wouldn't completely dismiss polyester. I find I can cope with heat and not sweat too much if they're sleeveless and my shoulders get air on them. I used to have to travel to Caribbean on business and this wonderful dress was brilliant for that. I'd forgotten how brilliant it was until I wore it again, I guess that's why it's survived so many wardrobe culls!
