What bag do you use for the airport/travelling?

Please share what bags you use for the airport/when you travel?

Last year I took a tote bag with me for the airport but it didn’t have a zip so i was always conscious of it being ‘open’. I don’t particularly want to use it again this year, I’m nervous about things falling out or someone pinching something.

After something roomy but not too big & that has a zip.

Thanks

We're flying with ryanair so we are limited to the size we can take for free. 3 of us have a backpack and I have a bag with handles and a shoulder strap

I definitely wouldn't use something without a zip. I like to have a small crossbody bag and then a backpack or zipped tote - can stick the crossbody one in the bigger one if rules decree.

i have this

its great, can use it as a cross body or a backpack and theres millions of pockets

I've been using Desigual bags which have so many pockets and are very light. They easily fit under the plane seat. This is an add-on to my locker carry-on case, and I use them as shopping bags once I'm on holiday.

Kipling backpack

We travel hand luggage only, so I use the £15 Uniqlo Cross body bag (kind of looks like a bum bag) - has a zipper and is so roomy I reckon I could pack a weekend aways clothes in it.

I can then squeeze it into the hand luggage bag for boarding.

Honestly it's quite ridiculous how much can be squeezed into it.

The large Kipling Art tote or large Longchamp Le Pliage. I've used the Art tote when I flew with hand luggage only with a separate small Longchamp bag which squashed down in the top of my tote for the flight. It has a zip and can also be zipped at the sides. My friend used it on a longhaul flight to Oz earlier this year and was raving about it when she came back.

Longchamps le pliage. Robust. Stylish. Perfect size. Zips up.

Poachedeggs1 · 20/06/2023 23:12

Another vote for Longchamp Pliage. I can fit my small handbag inside and still plenty of room for other things.

Another vote for longchamp, not cheap but they last forever and are so useful

GrimDamnFanjo · 20/06/2023 23:45

I have loads of travel bags. For carryons I like the Redoxx brand.
I have a couple of Healthy Back Bags which are really easy to wear and can even fit a MacBook Air inside.

Chardonnay73 · 20/06/2023 23:47

A large Longchamp for long haul and a small one for Ryanair type flights. Weigh almost nothing, look stylish and very roomy. Get them in the January sales.

wednesdaynamesep · 20/06/2023 23:53

Surprised no one has mentioned the Mia Tui travel bags. Designed specifically for travel and really useful. The come in two sizes, both of which slide under the seat in front.

Le Pliage. Lightweight, zip top, multiple colours.

tacomaco · 21/06/2023 07:10

mia Tui. I think it’s the Jenny I have. I preferred it to the le pliage.

Another vote for Longchamp Le Pilage

I'm flying tomorrow, hand baggage only as I shall try and get to the office stand up meeting first thing. Waiting for a case would give me no chance at all.

I will take a samsonite wheeled carryon, plus Le Pilage and a cross body handbags. The handbags will be inside the Le Pilage. On the way home, minus 'treats for colleagues' the Le Pilage will be inside the wheeled case and I will have the cross body handbag out.

FinallyHere · 21/06/2023 07:21

Over the years I have collected Le Pilage in creme and in green so can coordinate with whatever I am wearing. 😁

gogohmm · 21/06/2023 07:31

I have a large fiorelli handbag which has two open sections for book etc then a zip up central section

gogohmm · 21/06/2023 07:32

Should add small size luggage compatible. Not keen on hand luggage only so check my suitcase

Mother87 · 21/06/2023 07:46

Backpack (I use a leather/smartish one) and the gamechanger - a new discovery for me🤣a crossbody phone bag for passport/phone! Made travelling SO much easier - not having to take backpack off/zip/unzip etc. so I have the two on the go, but it's easy now

bellinisurge · 21/06/2023 07:47

Eco hub do great bags for carry on.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 21/06/2023 08:07

If it’s a band luggage only or few days/week trip then I use an old Tripp burgundy wheel on.
