I wouldn’t wear a long white dress, no

W1h · 17/06/2023 21:52

Yes

Maddy70 · 17/06/2023 21:53

Yes. Sorry that's unsuitable

hattyhathat · 17/06/2023 21:54

Yes it also has no sides so will look bizarre if you see not as slim as the model

J0S · 17/06/2023 21:55

Yes it’s too white. And it’s too revealing at the back, unless it’s for a very informal beach wedding.

TeeBee · 17/06/2023 21:56

Yes too white but definitely buy it for another occasion. It's lovely

Bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 17/06/2023 21:56

I had a feeling that would be the case!! Was perhaps just hopeful as I love it!! I'd wear a jacket to cover the holes for the formal bit. I'll keep looking!! Thanks

I’d keep looking, as you have plenty of time. It is generally thought to be not the done thing to wear white to a wedding so you run the risk of offending someone. I’ve been married twice and wore silver the first time and blue the second so it wouldn’t bother me personally.

SimonsCow · 17/06/2023 22:00

Yes. Too white and the length doesn’t help it. It’s a gorgeous shape if you can pull it off- I don’t agree it’s too revealing.

Bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 17/06/2023 22:05

I have lost some weight recently and am training for a marathon next year too, so decent shape and will be in better shape by the weddings I think I could pull it off in terms of the style. Shame they dont do it in other colours and I have nowhere else to go in it!!

Lol

shadowchancesassy · 17/06/2023 22:07

It's fine, beautiful dress

QuintanaRoo · 17/06/2023 22:11

Too white. I was actually looking at wedding dresses the other day and there were similar pattern floral wedding dresses in the bridal shop.

Bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 17/06/2023 22:12

To be fair it would be gorgeous as a wedding dress in all white!!

Too white and too revealing for a wedding.

Riverlee · 17/06/2023 22:14

The pattern maybe okay on a shorter dress. However, as a maxi dress, wrong shape for a wedding (and too revealing?).

Actually lots of women gain weight when training for a marathon.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 17/06/2023 22:16

It's not too white, but it is too revealing.

WasabiWinner · 17/06/2023 22:16

I can understand people asking about existing dresses... but why oh why would you deliberately buy a white dress for a wedding? Of all the other colours in the world?
It will photograph white, too flowy and I can well see it being a wedding dress for a casual wedding.
There's a very simple solution

vincettenoir · 17/06/2023 22:18

I think it’s fine for a wedding, although I would wear it with dark accessories.

Weight is irrelevant though - it's fat. And body shape...

RosesAndHellebores · 17/06/2023 22:19

Too revealing, particularly for a church wedding.

It might not be too white if it were shorter but it's wrong on too many levels.

Well that's why I am asking. I have no intention of buying it now I've asked. But I've seen white dresses with patterns being told they are ok before so wondered.... And didn't want to go for it and it not be ok. I'd have been ok if someone wore it to my wedding.
