Anyway to stop foundation rubbing on clothes

I'm new to wearing make up so have no idea if there is a thing for this
When I wear foundation it always transfers onto my collar (if wearing a shirt) or around the rim of my top.
Is there a way or some kind of product that can stop this from happening.
It's quite embarrassing when wearing a white shirt and you can see the light brown from my foundation on it.
So any ideas or tips would be appreciated
(Apart from never wearing foundation or a white top again 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣)

Oh also I have bought several brands of foundation - some that say no transfer yet they still do
What could I be doing wrong?

I would love to know! I like white shirts with a stand up/high collar and this is a nightmare. I don't find the make-up fixing spray works. The only answer I have seen when I googled this is to spray hairspray on your neck/anywhere else you may get transfer from but I really don't fancy spraying a load of Elnet on my neck!!

I saw something this week that said put hairspray on the collars to stop make up transfer. No idea if it works or where I saw it
