Just that. Comfy soft leather sandals received a direct hit from a bowl of soup. Are they cleanable?

I dropped bolognaise onto my suede Birkenstocks and just wiped it off with water. I did look up that you can use distilled vinegar

Thanks for replying. I will try water first. It's soaked in because I had to save the carpet first. 😭

What colour are your sandals? I’d suggest either a specialised leather cleaner ( upholstery ones are very gentle and won’t remove colour) or a good saddle soap, which will get out any residual grease keft by the soup.

They are natural pale rust-brown colour. I hadn't thought of leather furniture cleaner. That's brilliant thanks. I assume saddle soap is for actual saddles?

The best leather cleaner I've ever tried is Lord Sherrington , I've cleaned hundreds of vintage bags with it, all have come up amazing I also use it on new leather shoes before I wear them
