Quick natural looking fake tan for pale person

HettyMeg · 16/06/2023 12:03

Going on hols on Monday and feeling self conscious about my pale white skin. I never tan on holiday either as I need to slather myself in 50+ as I burn so easily.

I don't like the idea of doing a proper fake tan in case I look orange, but think I've left it too late to do the gradual more "natural" looking ones... any recommendations?

Thanks!

There is no such thing. They all come out orange

I really rate bondi sands!

I use the developing one normally for occasions etc although a couple of weeks ago I bought their instant one and I was really impressed! It did not come out orange at all and was a lovely bronze colour
I've linked it in case you wanted to check it out
Disclaimer - it does look dark when it comes out the bottle but it's not as dark when you've applied it :)

I use this (not just on my legs) I'm pale too and this is perfect. The results are instant, you don't have to wait for it to develop.

Rainbowshit · 16/06/2023 12:33

I use the garnier gradual tan.

I use the garnier gradual tan.

And you will have plenty of time to build it up before Monday. I also take it on holiday with me and use as after sun

I recommend Dove gradual tan, pretty cheap and I notice a colour after the first application so plenty of time for you before Monday.

I use a tanning mitt to apply it (bondi sands one) and it gives a really flawless application.

Also a recommendation for Dove gradual tan and it also comes in light/medium. I've been using it for years and after 2 applications there's a definite hint of nice colour.

I use Garnier gradual tan. Comes out pretty even and easy to build up

Dancingoapin · 16/06/2023 13:16

It’s not cheap but I’ve recently tried Tax Luxe the butter - I am very pale and this gives a pretty instant tan that looks natural on me. I apply with a mitt and start with a small amount. I think because it’s a butter seems easier to not get streaks.

other than that I used garnish gradual which I find a better colour for me than dove

Isle of paradise tan drops are THE BEST THING IN MY LIFE.

I'm super pale and normal fake tan leaves me patchy, a weird colour and just looks awful.

I add a few drops of these to my moisturiser and tada...

This year is the very first year I've got my legs out in the uk.

Bluebells1970 · 16/06/2023 13:46

My DD's all insist on using them.

And all look like Oompaloompahs.

There is no such thing as a gentle fake tan.

IggySlave · 16/06/2023 14:24

another Dove fan - i've used it for years its fantastic (i'm also a beauty therapist).

TheMurderousGoose · 16/06/2023 14:34

I think fake tans only work if you’re someone who’s going to tan anyway, and as the fake tan fades the real tan takes over.

If you’re really pale you’ll probably just find that it will get obviously patchy as it fades. And trying to re-apply fake tan when in a hot climate isn’t much fun.

Recoveringcynic · 16/06/2023 15:35

Fake tan makes me itch so I use vita liberata body blur, applied with a mitt. It wash off /on so very low risk. Usually just do whichever bits are on show!

YappyCamper · 16/06/2023 16:10

Another very pale dove fan here. My version of choice is the light to medium mousse. It's absolutely idiot proof, the only tan I can apply which doesn't streak or go patchy on me

Rubbish. Some are so natural. We’re not in 2005.

Amazing stuff! Makes your legs look perfect too

Fake bake for me every time. I have the palest Irish skin and I get a perfect glow overnight consistently.

sadtoday1 · 16/06/2023 16:25

Another vote for dove mousse. Doesn’t streak and super easy to apply. They have a light to medium version.

Passerillage · 16/06/2023 16:27

I use St Tropez Express and just leave it on for 45 mins to an hour and it looks great. Might do it this evening, in fact!

2kids2catsnolife · 16/06/2023 16:29

I am super pale and always go streaky. Do a proper spray tan, the only time I've ever had a fake tan that looked half decent!

CorruptAppleYard · 16/06/2023 16:36

For your first go I would get a spray tan, failing that watch some application videos on Youtube to avoid streaks, if you get streaks then the application method is failing you.

I am very pale as in the palest foundation colours you can get and I use St Mortiz tanning mousse in medium. Not the fast one. But I had time to experiment so I did my front thighs only and removed the product x number of hours in and the other leg the full development time. That way I could see which one worked better for me.

There are lots of natural fake tans out there. Don't go off the orange teenagers who cannot apply it. You only have to watch a million at home hair bleaching fail videos despite all the correct information on how to do that being readily available on the same platform that they upload their content to.

ScreenPrinting · 16/06/2023 17:05

extraordinarily pale person here and my favourite is Skinny Tan coconut water spray in medium… I exfoliate with gloves two or three days in a row then apply with a mitt, blending and blending in long strokes. It gives a decent hint of colour, im
Not exactly tanned looking afterwards but I look less day-glo, which is how I want it. I could double up and tan again next day if I wanted more colour.

I also like St Moritz mousse.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 16/06/2023 17:48

I am pale blue and use the dove one in medium dark, morning and night application between now and Monday will give you a bit of colour. Just remember to exfoliate before you start, especially knees, elbows and top of feet. Don't be heavy handed with it.
