Modern short hair cuts (like bobs but better!)

So I had my hair cut off jaw length a few months ago and it has grown a couple of inches at the front. It's also fried from previous bleaching.

I have a centre parting and I had a curtain fringe cut too. Obviously grown and down to my ears now.

It's all grown out. I look like a lego man with brown hair. It's all very dull. I've noticed I look much better when my hair is away from my face (no idea why though!).

Please can any hair gurus post photos of some acceptable bob hair cuts preferably jaw length. I have wavy hair.

I don't mind how short it is at the back, but jaw length at the front so it's "clip backable"

Thanking you 🙏

Brown hair = dyed over the old blonde highlights but now have brown hair with caramel highlights.

Won't be bleaching for the foreseeable

Italian bob?

I think French bob, Italian bob a bit too long?

NaturalKisstoryMuseum · 16/06/2023 08:03

I love an Italian Bob but I think I'm a few months off that length. My previous hair cut was a French bob which suited my natural waves and curls.

Italian Bob sounds like a man 😂

Isn't an Italian bob without a fringe and French bob with a fringe, rather than to being to do with length?

You could have an inverted bob if you prefer it shorter at the back but keep it long enough to clip back at the front.

There is nothing better than a bob, IMO, the decisions are all one length or layers, fringe or not, and how long to start. Then do you keep it tidy or tousled.

Isn't an Italian bob without a fringe and French bob with a fringe, rather than to being to do with length? Answering my own question, apparently not - both can have a fringe and the difference is length. So now I know.

But in reality they are both just bobs.

NaturalKisstoryMuseum · 16/06/2023 08:22

I was looking at Italian bobs yesterday and they tend to be longer than jaw length when dry and wavy - so when wet they must be a little longer again.

Also requires length at the back

And I've seen them with both fringes and no fringes.

I was using Pinterest and YouTube to look at them yesterday.

French bobs are definitely shorter. I love both!

Google results for "Italian vs French bob"

Just like the French bob, the Italian bob has an easy, carefree look. However, it's a bit longer and is cut below the chin, almost kissing the shoulders. Unlike the shorter French style, this hairdo is more versatile, and can be tied up or worn down.19 Feb 2023

I said I didn't want a bob shape to my hairdresser as I have a strong jaw and it's a bit harsh for me. My hair is short but inevitably grows into a bob if you leave it. So it's short layers at the back and longer at the front and I wear a side parting so I can push the longer side behind my ears. I prefer this to a fringe especially in summer.

Maybe something like a shag cut so that layers are cut in but not squared off. I have wavy hair and every bob grows into a triangle-now I’ve had a shag/wolf cut, it grows out beautifully.
