Is there such a thing as a strapless, wireless, plunge bra?

Which is comfortable? To fit under this dress.

Oh and I’m like a 38dd. I hate strapless bras and normally would wear like a bandeau top but think this dress is too plunging.

Give underwear a bit of a chance - what would be holding it up, it needs something :)

Closest might be the various sticky ones?

Ok, I guess if anything has to give (apart from my boobs) I could try a wired strapless, plunge bra! I’ve tried stick on ones before with no success.

Wonderbra used to do a good plunging strapless bra. It wasn't traditional wiring but did feel like a similar level of support

I have a similar dress and I got a cheap standard bra, cut the straps off and sewed the top corner of each cup on to the dress just under the dress straps (just one stitch each side to hold it up). It washes with the dress but equally I guess I could have sewed buttons instead to button the bra onto the dress when needed.

I hate strapless bras too!

Something like this might work? Would be trial and error as to if it's visible though.

That is a genius idea, I’m going to try that. Thanks.

what dress size are you OP? Check out the bra threads here (someone will link) 38dd generally is an unlikely one - smaller band, larger cup normally. Important for strapless especially ☺️

Another vote here for the Wonderbra one

QuintanaRoo · 15/06/2023 18:31

Right, I’m going to order the wonderbra to see what it’s like and if I don’t like it will try cutting some straps off a normal bra and stitching it (or maybe adding pop studs) to the dress.

Strapless bras are instruments of torture! I love the idea of sewing a normal bra in to the dress.

Generally I wear padded Uniqlo bra tops so a strapless bra was quite a leap for me but I genuinely felt I was being cut in 2 when I sat down.

That was a next underwired strapless thing.

Daffodil77 · 15/06/2023 18:34

I seem to remember sizing up in the band for the wonderbra one. But check reviews for that.

123ZYX · 15/06/2023 18:40

Do you really want to wear a strapless bra under a sun dress? They tend to have plastic-y bands to stop them slipping, which would be horrible and sweaty if the weather was good enough to wear a sun dress.

Could the dress stand being shortened by a couple of inches? I'd be tempted to shorten the dress and use the offcuts to make wider straps

Bobbybobbins · 15/06/2023 18:46

Hope you find a solution OP! I must admit that I have stopped buying dresses with narrow straps as I hate strapless bras.

No, not really. If I could wear a bandeau top thing I would but I think it’ll be too high across. I’m not actually bothered about the lack of support. I just don’t want to flash my nipples. Maybe I won’t keep the dress, it probably is too impractical. I can’t cope with sewing to make wider straps.

Maybe I could just buy a green plunge strap bra and brazen it out showing bra straps.
