New brown hair and feel boring

I know this sounds dramatic 😂

But I'm naturally have celtic colouring so pale cool skin, very dark hair, bright blue eyes.

I've had highlights for years but my roots were so dark. And I hated the maintenance. So I dyed it all light brown, very gradually pulled down through.

So my hair is now a light ash brown with blonde highlights (no warm tones). It's very natural and pretty.

But, I just look so weird! Maybe it'll take time to adjust. But my eyes look small and naked

My eyelashes and eyebrows are dark brown but I look so.... plain. Even my blue eyes look dark! I look like a mole (I'm actually mole colour 😂)

What makeup things should I alter to pull together my new look?

(maybe my hair isn't dark enough!)

I have a friend who is your colouring - she has her hair natural colour which is pretty dark. I wonder if you are right that you aren’t dark enough? She always looks fab and the contrast between hair and eyes makes her eyes pop.

Ask a friend, sister, maybe the colour just doesn't suit you, or maybe you're overthinking it. You do maybe need to change your makeup palette

I think it's this. I've been playing around with makeup today and I just looked so strange.

I wrapped my hair up in a black t shirt and suddenly my eyes looked bright blue again and my dark eyelashes stood out. It looked so beautiful.

My new hair is likely to fade in this sun but I'll dye it back to dark brown in late August.

Just you wait - I'll be starting a new thread saying "omfg dyed my hair and it's jet black. I look AWFUL!"

Yep your hair needs to be darker I think.
Enjoy wearing black though as not everyone can!

Ha ha! Reminds me of when I had a very similar hysterical late night call from a colleague once. The next morning I was able to reassure her that she actually looked like Madonna in the video for Like A Prayer. Phew!

😂 I have done it a few times but I have learnt never to dye my hair "dark brown" as "Medium brown" is pretty damn dark!

The last time I did it my scalp was glistening and black for AGES. My actual hair turned jet black and it scared me. Glistening in the sun with blue and red tones. Awful!

Naturally my hair is like Katie Melua but sadly I've bleached it and had it cut so I looked more like Doc from Back to Future 😂

For now, I just look like Moley from Wind in the Willows...

My natural dark hair had a lot of red in it. Celtic. I don't think solid black or dark brown would have suited my skin tone.
