Casual yet go-anywhere summer bags!

I love bags!

And I NEED to either swap out my current one or find a new one (who doesn't love bag shopping?!)

Obviously I want the holy grail - casual, but not sloppy, just about smart enough for any occasion except maybe an investiture, pockets inside and out. I'd like it big enough to carry my cardi and perhaps my lunch, as well as usual phone, keys, cards, chargers, hanky, hair clips, note pad etc etc. I am a bit magpie-ish in what i carry around...

I find that shoulder bags fall off my shoulder these days - is it age? Is that why women start to wear cross-body bags? Have my shoulders dropped irrevocably to close off shoulder bags for ever

What hot in bags this summer? (Apart from my flask of lunch)

I have no idea what is hot in bags this year, I am a very practical bag person! It sounds like you need a pretty big bag as you need to carry lots. Are you ruling out tote bags due to the shoulder issue?

I have this in dark brown, it doesn't fall off my shoulder and fits loads in (I used it as my hand luggage last year).

Probably not in fashion but for me it looks good, it's leather and it holds everything.

That's lovely! Would probably fall off the sloping shoulder. But I do like it.

That's nice but not necessarily for me! I like it but I don't think I could make it work...
