I fancy a complete change of hairstyle...but am chicken!

Last year I had hair nearly down to my waist, longest it's ever been.
Cut it to shoulder length with layers (sort of layered long fringe too)
I'm bored with it.
I would really like to do something I've never done....have super short hair (think P!NK type.. ) but I'm too chicken. I'm 55, tall and slim and have grey streaks rapidly thickening through my hair which is wavy unless straightened.

Am I just going to look old, and like I've given up? Has anyone else done a drastic chop and NOT regretted it ; I mean I know it will grow again but the thought of the fuzzy in between stage..

Also has anyone any great short style pics?!

Have a look on Pinterest for short styles. Your hair sounds very like mine, which suited very short when I was slimmer. Currently looking for a new style so interested to see what others come up with.

Remember - it's only hair. If you do go ver yshort and hate it, it will grow back. go for it.

I had super short hair for years, it's excellent and very liberating. Two seconds to sort it in the morning. The only snag is you have to cut it quite regularly and growing it out takes years - I grew mine out in the pandemic but am thinking of snipping it all off again!

That’s exactly the style I want. The last time I had my hair short I was 18, it was the fashion and it suited me. Now I think I don’t have the jawline for it (bit jowly.)

I do see older women out and about with that style and I think they look fab. Some are completely grey (see Dawn French) and look great.

Do it. You can always let it grow back.

I did it when young but I prefer my hair long and have hair that grows very slowly.
