That’s it basically, struggling to find these .

Want long/maxi or long midi and not sleeveless .Ideally not floral, but that’s pushing it in terms of narrowing the selection long with other asks.

Loose fitting .
Ideally up to £50.

Struggling to find this length , with sleeves and loose and floaty .

Any suggestions ?

thanks

I would say with H&M sizing that they are coming up big this year in their more roomy stuff. I'm anywhere from a 16-20 in various shops but I've had to size down to Medium in H&M and in one skirt a small, which would make their L/XL sizes somewhere around 20/22 if not a bit bigger

ive found them to be quite random. But the dress I shared is Monki , not h and m, even though on their site. So not sure if they’re sizing . Never bought from their website.

I know this is tiered, but it’s well
made so it doesn’t look tiered on, it just looks gently shaped. https://takingshape.com/UK/natural-etched-floral-dress/V71127.9001.html

Worth having a browse of their website, I’ve been happy with everything I’ve bought from it (except jeans but they’re a nightmare to buy generally!). Comes up large - size down.

I’ll take a look at their site , thanks.

the dress though is too short for me with bare legs .

@MoiraRoseForever look at the Dove dress from silk fred/dancing leopard. No ruffles, long sleeves and belt can cinch you in at the waist.

Is silk Fred the website ?

I don’t cinch as I don’t have a waist !

I am aware I’m being very picky but don’t want to show too much of my arms and I have fat ankles/cankles and large calves so if bare legged needs to be long.
I need flowing as belted and waisted looks awful.

so when I then add no tiers, it’s getting quite picky I know !

I've never had to return anything to curve wow so I can't say how good the returns
Are I'm afraid
I bought two of that type of dress i linked last year and 3 more of the same size this year, all between 20-30 quid depending on popularity I guess

I mean it's polyester and elastane so it's not top quality but they wash and dry easily and are comfy and flattering on, the elastic waist goes more under the bust so it skims down over my wide hips

I'm happy with them for the price

Boden had a jersey dress in the sale that had really good reviews. I am the same dress size as you but 6ft and really struggle as most tall sizes stop at an 18 or 20 and plus is too short in length or on the waist but this would have worked on someone shorter.

Someone on another thread suggested searching for a shift dress with no defined waist maybe try next they have a few in 22 regular.

Or you could try London Live Unlimited.

Good luck.

I bought a really flattering kaftan last year, one size fits me (size 24) with room to spare. It was from Cool Kaftan and I liked it so much I bought another one this summer, now sold on Amazon. At £20, I think it a bargain!

Mind you, I mainly wear them around the house and garden, I’ve not been brave enough to wear it out of the house but I plan to wear my new one at a friends garden party later this week.

I think you would have to be fairly tall though as they are rather long, I’m 5ft 7 ins and they are almost floor length.

Thank you for this - I've just ordered three! One plain and two in cotton so perfect for this hot weather.

I wear kaftans all the time when it gets hot, OP, and they were a game-changer for me. I wear them outside as well as around the house

Sorry, don’t know how to link! I bought direct from coolkaftan.co.uk last year but they seem to sell through Amazon this year as the Google search led to Amazon. It is a Cool Kaftan dress though according to the label. I think I also looked at other kaftans by searching for cool kaftan directly on the Amazon site.

Same answer as @Ihateslugs! I've just bought direct from Cool Kaftan Co. uk but as Slugs says, you can buy through Amazon too, and there's a great variety of designs. Two of mine are cotton.

I know kaftans aren't for everyone, OP, and I'm glad others have given links and loads of great suggestions so I'm looking forward to hearing how you get on. I'm currently sitting in an ankle length, beautiful, bright yet flattering kaftan and it's so easy and comfortable

MoiraRoseForever · 12/06/2023 11:54

Googled kaftans and one of links was to Temu . They have lots of very cheap dresses.

Anyone used them ?

I like this one from ASOS but they have quite a lot of choice if you don’t like it

That’s nice but need longer sleeves . Need to hide the bit from elbow up !

am looking on ASOS to see what else there is. Lovely dresses but need arms more covered and some also have slits nd I don’t want to show my legs .

need a head to toe sack !
