Black trousers - but not this and not that

Please help me find some black trousers for a fairly active job. We are moving to a dress code of black trousers/leggings/skirts with a uniform shirt in a few months. The trousers need to be practical and presentable, rather than smart.

All my current work trousers are stretch cotton, but they are not black. I could get the same style as I currently wear in black, but black fades very quickly from cotton and they would soon look patchy and not presentable.

I can't bear synthetics, though am OK with cotton-synthetic mixes. Not keen on leggings (depends how long the uniform shirt turns out to be!) Would like a pocket large enough for my phone.

Size 16-18.

Any suggestions?

I was going to say m and s, until you said not synthetics.

What other material are you looking for if cotton and synthetics are out?

If cotton you could periodically re-dye them black. Also be careful to wash inside out, colour friendly detergent etc.

Also not all synthetics are the same, you might find some sport trousers such as Craghoppers comfortable.

I really like the fatface 5 pocket jeggings. Cotton polyester elastane mix. I’ve not tried the black ones but I’ve had other colours and they last pretty well. V comfy. If you’re 16-18 I’d order a 16 as they’re pretty generous compared to most other shops.

I've discounted 100% cotton, and 95% cotton 5% elastane, because they generally fade quickly.

I would not wear 100% synthetic, but poly-cotton would be fine, or probably any other mixed fibre.
