Any recommendations for a blue shampoo that I can buy in Boots or Superdrug that is good and that means I don’t have to search out salon brands?

Not shampoo but I like Elvive's intensive purple mask. I leave it on for five minutes.

"A Touch of Silver"? https://www.boots.com/touch-of-silver-brightening-shamp-200ml-10210464

Boots advertises a John Frieda blue shampoo on their website

dementedpixie · 09/06/2023 21:20

P.s. Blue shampoo neutralises orange tones whereas purple shampoo is for yellow tones

Aussie Hair have blue shampoo. I buy it for my brunette daughter. It's usually around £4-5 in Boots.

Fuckitydoodah · 09/06/2023 21:21

Superdrug do their own brand it's great.

Boots also has an Aussie brand blue shampoo on their website

brawhen · 09/06/2023 21:24

I use the John Freida one, it's good and I buy in Boots. There are frequently 3 for 2 etc - don't pay full price.

Can also get it on Amazon.

The Lee Stafford one you can buy in Boots is good, and smells lovely.

Blossomandbee · 09/06/2023 21:39

I didn't know Aussie did one, it's coming up as on offer in superdrug at the moment, I might try it.
The superdrug own brand one is a good price but has bad reviews

Rosti1981 · 09/06/2023 22:01

Excited to hear about the Aussie one as I've always used this brand for being good but not too £££. I've looked previously for this and wondering if it's new

Weeviking · 09/06/2023 22:11

I get one out of home bargains...I love it.

YorkieTheRabbit · 09/06/2023 22:26

I’ve recently started using Lee Stafford bleach blonde Icy white. It’s the best by far.
I’d been using Fanola for a while but that tends to make the lighter parts of my hair look an odd grey colour where as the Lee Stafford turns it a nice bright blonde.

Downsizeddumpling · 10/06/2023 15:52

It’s for highlights and so I plan to use it once a week. I might take a look in home bargains and Boots thanks for your recommendations. I was told to look at a salon brand but they normally cost £££

Is it not a purple one you need then rather than blue?

Downsizeddumpling · 10/06/2023 16:08

The hair dresser told me blue as it’s the opposite of orange on the colour wheel I was told.

dementedpixie · 10/06/2023 16:15

Are your highlights a warm colour then?
Blue takes out orange tones and purple takes out yellow tones

Downsizeddumpling · 10/06/2023 16:20

Blonde highlights

spring78 · 10/06/2023 16:24

I've always been told to use purple for blonde

Downsizeddumpling · 10/06/2023 16:30

I’ll have to read the info then. Wonder why I was told blue then?!

I find the pureplex blonde shampoo and conditioner excellent. You can get it in Superdrug

csam · 10/06/2023 16:32

I used to use fudge which is £££ but find Lee Stafford from boots brilliant
