Olive skin, blonde hair

Every year I attempt to go blonde for the summer, I am very olive skinned with brown eyes and tan easily.

Every year I decide dark hair suits me better.

I am about to spend £350 on a balayage, convinced that keeping some brown around my face will suit me and I will finally have the blonde I crave.

Can blonde work with olive skin or do I need to stop wasting my money and accept what nature gave me?

Yes, and no.
This is exactly my colouring but I have stopped with the bayalage. It looks great to start with, or in the winter, but by the end of the summer my hair is even blonder, my skin is even browner, and I look like an Italian porn star. Also you'll have to keep conditioning the ends as sun and swimming will dry your hair out even more.

I just laughed out loud at the Italian porn star Grin maybe that's what I will go and ask for! Now that would be a big change.

My hair copes really well with bleach, I'm not worried about the condition, I have invested in some great aftercare too. I have literally done everything to it over the years and only had to have it cut off once when I tried to go black to lilac at home!

My hair is very fine. I used to have to condition the ends, and then do a quick smear and rinse over my head to stop it looking fluffy, but too much and it looked lank and greasy.
Wait until next year. I'll have got bored, forgotten, and booked another bayalage..... 😂

i’m a pale olive, and ime you have to be careful with your shade of blonde. You absolutely can pull off blonde with olive skin, but again, it’s all dependent on the shade. As a general rule, choose a warm tone for warm skin, a cool tone for cool skin.

Judging from your photo I could see you suiting caramel and honey blonde tones.

I'm olive skinned and naturally dark ash blond which lightens over the years in the sun to end up pale ash blond at the ends. So I permanently have darker roots. Maybe you're going for a blond that's too warm toned or too pale?

You all sound like you have lovely hair!

I will be sure to post a picture tomorrow when it's done. It's a whole day appointment Confused

It's bit difficult to tell from your photos but I don't think you have olive skin. Your skin looks like it has red/warm undertones whereas olive skin usually has green/yellow undertones.

Agree. Which is why your blond feels too yellow as it’s too warm for your skin

I have olive skin that tans easily and dark hair.

I look good with white blond. Yellow blond is crap

I always thought it is olive because it tans so easily. Here is a picture of my arm in natural day light to try and show the tone better.

Ah found a pic from the weekend!

If I am going to spend so much money I need to know I am asking for the right thing!

Would you still say not olive?

You're gorgeous OP. I can see that you'd look amazing with darker hair but you're so pretty you can carry off the lighter colour too.
