I need help - mother of the groom

My DS is getting married in four weeks as his partner’s DM is dying. It is still going to be a ‘proper’ wedding near the bride’s home on an island but only with parents, siblings and their partners. I have a dress I love which is perfect and that I feel good in - it has been a dreadful two years for my family and I have been looking after others not myself so am not looking my best, however, it does not go with the overriding colour scheme. There are only twelve of us and everyone is wearing a mix of blue and pink and white, my dress is bronze. The photos are going to be so important for the brides family.I need a long dress that will hide my 34ff bust bust that will look good on a beach at sunset.

Look on the Next website. They carry brands such as Gina Baconi, Adriana Papell, Phase Eight, Reiss, Ted Baker, LK Bennett and so many more which are perfect for weddings
Are you sure your dress won’t suit the colour scheme? Bronze depending on the shade can be quite neutral and blends well with other colours

I had hoped it would blend in but I’ve seen the other dresses and know what the men are wearing and I would really stand out. I’m also unsure of what size to buy as I have put on so much weight so I really need to try it on.
The next website has been recommended to me for beach cover ups as well so I’ll take a look.

Are the pink/blue colours to be pale or vibrant? And what's your budget?

Really sorry your and (soon-to-be)DIL's families are going through such a horrible time. A sunset beach wedding sounds wonderful.

Thanks for your kind words, it really is horrible but the wedding is giving them something immediate to focus on.
the colours are muted, I tried on a trapeze dress in Phase eight today that was ok, the bride said the colours were perfect but I think I need to lose weight before I look really good in it. It’s £199 which is the top of my budget really, not a lot for a wedding but enough for barefoot on the beach.

Ah, glad you've already found something suitable.

Was coming on to suggest this as a 'maybe'! With flat, decorative sandals.

Though possibly not beach enough...

Oh, no, ignore that: just noticed it's polyester. Definitely no good for hot temperatures.

Could you look into having the bronze dress professionally dyed?

There's some good Facebook groups that sell 'preloved' MOB & MOG dresses - these may be with a look. Also have you looked on Vinted?

Hi @Dreamsarereal sorry to hear of the circumstances- I hope it is as joyous an occasion as possible.
I am looking at outfits for a small
Family wedding and wondered if this brand might be of interest if you aren't sore about the phase 8.
They are quite floaty and maybe beachy?
