Hi, as the title suggests, I'm short, a couple stone over ideal weight for my height, have wide shoulders, very big tummy, large bum and thighs , thick upper arms, reasonable bust, wide calves and slim ankles.
Being short I've always tended towards either hippy strappy floaty above the knee dresses or slim fitted cotton vest or halter neck minis or just above the knee.
Now the slim fitted dresses just enhance every bump and really emphasise my tummy and any floaty dress just makes me feel huge, like homer Simpson in his mumuu.
Have tried empire line, looks heavily pregnant and anything short sleeve makes me feel so undermining because my arms are so chunky. Plus I'm a sun worshipper so like to have no sleeves, strappy or wide straps.
My style is pretty bohemian / casual generally.
I don't like anything too fussy, although like bright prints , geometric or a bit pop art and have definitely kept a lot of my style from being a young woman in the 90s!
I don't like Joe browns or the Desigual , I like things like dancing leopard but they do a lot of wrap stuff and being short I just experience a lot of awkward gape with wraps.
Some yumi stuff is nice but doesn't quite hit the spot, things like run and fly and Lucy and yak designs are nice but feel too ubiquitous, certainly in my town.
Joanie has some nice designs but always a bit too long and bulky for my shape.
I'm not generally a fan of high St stores, used to buy separates in gap
I love manners London but no matter what the hype says, I find the thick material still really emphasises my curves in a way that doesn't always make me feel empowered.
I guess I really need to lose weight but disability, menopause and medication mke this an almost impossible task.
Sorry for the waffle!
