Tried couple of times but gave up in the end. Started a new job and would like to be presentable at work. I am going to salon to blow dry it ( every week) its not going to workput in the long run.

I have bbh and revlon blowdry brush
How can i learn to blowdry so that it stays for 2 days atleast
Any online class or in person classes i could try ?

If i do it once every week wil there be lot of hairloss ? I am having hair loss now and my husband says i sm going to be bald. Will 1 per week cause hair loss ? I can trim the split ends. Just worried about hair loss.

Thanks xxx

One more simple thing @janett2 If you sit down / stand and put your head downwards ( upside down ) and brush and dry it straight like that until it is almost dry , then you can do the more twiddly bits at the front more easily. ( I realise this is not what @Rina66 said , done carefully it can do a fairly decent home blow dry. I do agree with her about brushing in the opposite direction to where you want to hair to lie to give some lift. ( which I think drying upside dow n for a while has the dame effect. But I would say anything worth trying until you find the right one for you

@WhoToBeToday Thanks very much for sending the link. I have got Ferrous fumerate 150 mg. Do you think its not good enough ?

They may be - but you may need more than 1 a day to build your iron levels up.

I don’t know your budget but after years of using the Big Hair, I got the Shark Flexi Style for my birthday and I love it. I also have fine hair, which is getting a bit thinner (perimenopause). I use a Charles Worthington Desnifying mousse with the Shark and I’m really pleased with the results.

I have a ton of fine hair that is wavy and hard work to get sleek.

What works for me is after using the revlon one step (keep turning and pulling it away down the head don't just brush the hair) I put in a large Velcro roller (I have long hair and use the max size) staring ath the front and moving backwards. The hair then cools and sets better and you should get some more curl depending on the size roller.

I quite like this which I use liberally on damp hair

After a lifetime of hating my hair, I've been having weekly blow drys since ohh, about 2017.

My hair has never looked better. The wash lasts the week (I used to be a daily washer) and the bounce is pretty good. Even my hairdresser admits that my hair looks pretty good when I turn up a week later having only just run a comb through my hair between weekly visits.

I agree with all the advice, especially how much better it works if the blow dryer is higher than your head. I just don't have the arms to do that.

If I really need to diy, I find towel dry followed by Velcro rollers gets the best results because I can see if I have positioned a roller wrinkly in a way I just can't , even if I had the length ind strength in my arms.

When away from home, too far away from my lovely hairdresser, I have been known to find a random hairdresser near the 'away' event on the internet. Even the first time they ever blow dry my hair is heaps better than I can do myself.

Wish I had known about weekly blow dry years ago. Love having easy to manage hair. Haven't washed it myself for years

@FinallyHere ya blow dry once a week is awesome !! I have been doing it for few weeks. It saves so much time. But I am worried about hair loss. Did you have any extra hair loss after you started your weekly blow dry routine ?

Pleased to say that a weekly blow dry has no ill effects on my hair. It’s feels and looks as good as if ever has.

janett2 · 12/06/2023 22:08

@FinallyHere thats good to hear :) i am having hair loss already. So i was worried.

How do you make it stay longer ?

I would never have spent so much myself…. But my DH bought me a Dyson air wrap for Xmas a few years ago and it’s been a game changer for me. Don’t expect curly hair - it’s more of a bouncy blow dry style. It lasts me 2-3 days hold of looking fresh before I need to restyle

FinallyHere · 12/06/2023 23:28

@janett2

How do you make it stay longer ?

I do t really do anything. Lovely hairdresser uses all sorts of potions and loads of hairspray.

I avoid getting it wet (pin up before showers) and brush it out usually at night, sometimes in the morning, quick smooth and spritz if spray to keep the swept to the side fringe in place and I'm all good each day.

To be completely honest, even if I do nothing to it it still looks presentable.

janett2 · 13/06/2023 23:04

@FinallyHere You got a great hairdresser. Thanks :)

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor Thanks :) Do you get a salon like blow dry using revlon. For how many days does it stay ?

Well, I wash my hair every other day , I don't know how long it would last on your hair.
