Best hair straighteners?

I have some Cloud 9 which I got a few years ago and I'm not impressed, I keep thinking they gave me fake ones as everybody raves about them. Before my Cloud 9, I had some amazing GhDs which broke after 10 years or so. They left my coarse, thick hair looking shiny and swishy. But apparently GHds are not what they used to be... sigh.

Any recommendations? My hair is past shoulder length, thick and coarse. I look witchy at the moment. I have tried the curly hair stuff but it doesn't look good on me.

Remmington generally get reviews as good as Cloud 9 or GHDs and are a lot cheaper.

I've had a couple of Remmingtons which both lasted years and have worked really well, but not had anything more expensive to compare them to.

I had GHDs when ceramic technology was new. These days lots of other makers have caught up with them. I don't spend GHD/Cloud 9 money any more and buy these. They are fab.

They have Cloud 9 at my gym, I prefer the ones I've linked to.

I got my daughter a pair of Diva straighteners for Christmas and she likes them. I have cloud 9 for my frizzy mop and my hair looks better with them. Had Remington steam ones before, utter rubbish

I have the steam pod ones which are good, but it’s a faff with needing to fill them up with water, and they are bulky, so difficult to get close to root.

Wish I could go back in time and get GHDs from pre 2010 as I have not been able to find ones as good.

Babyliss pearlescent titanium ones. They're on offer in argos at the moment. I have very long and thick black hair. I use these and my hair stays straight until I next wash it (every 3 days).

I have GHD Platinum, expensive Hot Tools ones, and a Remington straighten that cost about £30 that I bought to take on holiday.

The Remington ones are by far the best and I glare at the other two resentfully now Grin

Had GHDs for years but recently got some remington ones for about £25 and they are amazing

Thanks! I do wonder if it's just my hair changing with age. I will have a look at the recommendations and make a decision.

You can, cloud nine straighteners are made in the same factory ghd used to be made in in Korea. so they are the pre 2010 ghds

laura26389 · 13/12/2023 14:02

i love my cloud nine
