Black tie/evening dress brands help please!

I need some help! Going to my first black tie event in about 6 years since having children, and own nothing suitable that still fits me! I was hoping to get something second hand, and therefore maybe go for something a little better quality than standard high street brands without the big price tag, but have no real idea what to search for!

For reference I’m mid 30s and looking for something probably midi length? It’s for my husband’s work event (city accountancy firm) so nothing to OTT but equally I don’t want to be under dressed!

Black tie usually means full-length for women. I usually go to John Lewis for those sorts of dresses as they stock brands as well as their own range. Have a look and a try on then hit Vinted for similar maybe?

I agree that black tie means full length. Ghost dresses are gorgeous and flattering and you can pick them up second hand.
