Are either of these ok for a wedding?

I’m 5”1, big boobs size 10 to 12 hoping to lose a little bit before the wedding.
The floral one I like on but think it might be a bit too casual?
Other one looks fine on but maybe a little dark for a summer wedding?
I do love a jumpsuit but haven’t found anything I like in petite ranges what won’t involve shelling out for a strapless bra which could also prove a nightmare or just uncomfortable on the day.
Im 37 if that’s relevant but look younger, I don’t want to look frumpy which is a challenge with being short and the boobs.

Yes, fine.

I prefer the floral one, as I think the other is a bit sombre

spartanrunnergirl · 31/05/2023 22:29

Dark green one is lovely and dressed up with heels & nice jewellery would look great.

Awrite · 31/05/2023 22:31

I prefer the dark green one. More elegant.

CreamTeaThievery · 31/05/2023 22:31

I don't love either for a wedding, the floral one is very casual and the dark one is too dark. (It's a gorgeous dress just not for a summer wedding)

Maybe with some gold wedges and really nice cold jewellery and a bag it could work but if you are buying new you might as well try something that works without extra effort.

RollinRollinRollinRawhide · 31/05/2023 22:33

Green is traditionally bad luck to wear at weddings but if the B & G aren’t likely to be bothered then number 2 is nicest.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/05/2023 22:41

I prefer the second, but depends if the fabric is nice or not. The first looks very casual.

TangledUpinBlu · 31/05/2023 22:44

Thanks all, think I will keep looking for something I really love and maybe keep these 2 just in case, the wedding is a bit of a mix, ceremony is in very tradition quite high end posh setting then the reception is way more casual, maybe I’ll wear both.
Bride and groom are not superstitious about such thinks and don’t care what anyone wears.
I want to look nice in photos.

What do people wear on heads for modern weddings?

I also got this which is beautiful but even though it is petite would still need taking up which I can’t really justify with the added cost of finding the right bra.
Such a shame as this would have been my ideal.
may ask my mum if she could take it up for me.

I'd vote for getting the jumpsuit altered, it's lovely.

Mummyoflittledragon · 01/06/2023 05:21

I do like the jumpsuit but understand the bra will probably be very expensive due to your cup size. Do be aware taking the trousers up needs to be done with care. It’s a sheer fabric, which can easily be ruined so I would only ask your mum if she is an experienced needle worker. As it’s also lined there are 2 fabrics to consider.

As for the dresses, the darker one would be your best bet as the lighter green is too casual for a formal event imo.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 01/06/2023 05:26

I think the plain green dress is lovely and would be fine for a wedding.

LaCerbiatta · 01/06/2023 07:28

Now green is bad luck, too sombre??? When will people stop with these absurd wedding rules??

I don't like prints and I suit dark colours, should I still wear pastel florals to fit into these ridiculous ever expanding rules??

LaCerbiatta · 01/06/2023 07:29

The green one is really elegant 🙂

Sissynova · 01/06/2023 08:41

Honestly the first one is like a coporate work dress and it doesn't even look flattering on the model, and the second is a daytime picnic in the park dress. I would keep looking.

Hoppinggreen · 01/06/2023 08:45

The green floral one I would probably wear with white trainers or sandals just out and about so I’m not sure it’s very weddingy. I like the green but it doesn’t look comfortable.
Jumpsuit is nice but bra an issue and you will need a pro to take it up

Hersetta427 · 01/06/2023 09:30

I prefer the dark green but the belt line seems quite high so it may make you look out of proporation if you have a large boobage above it.

How about this

WindUpPenguin · 01/06/2023 09:53

If you wore a lightweight cardigan/bolero over the jumpsuit you could wear a normal bra.

Naughtyfrog · 01/06/2023 09:59

I like the jumpsuit. You might be able to get away with a normal bra using racer back clips converters? (Lots on Amazon for a few £)

Friendofdennis · 01/06/2023 09:59

The jumpsuit is beautiful Of the 2 dresses the plain green one is very elegant. The patterned one is not special enough for a formal occasion I think

Catspyjamas17 · 01/06/2023 10:32

Either of the dresses would be completely fine for a wedding, especially if worn with an ivory jacket/accessories. Ideal sort of thing to buy as you can wear them for work etc after.

You must go to some very smart picnics. I would be wearing shorts, t shirt and trainers.

The green one is lovely and very suitable for a wedding.

Coronationstation · 01/06/2023 11:35

I've never heard about not wearing green to weddings! I think either are fine and the jumpsuit is lovely but I would check what colour the bridesmaids are wearing before choosing a solid colour!

gogohmm · 01/06/2023 11:39

For me they are both a little short, but it depends on the wedding, they vary a lot now. I've been to weddings that could have been royal ascot and others where the groom jeans

TangledUpinBlu · 01/06/2023 14:44

Thanks again everyone, I’m going to try them all on again and decide between the green dress and the jumpsuit, great idea to try clipping the straps. The floral green I’m keeping as a summer dress I can wear for work.
