Wella Colour Touch hair dye - need some help please

I have light brown mousey hair, and want to start dying it as I’m starting to get a few greys. I’ve purchased 7/1 and 7/97 in Wella Colour Touch and a 1.9% developer.

Im pale with cool toned skin, and I’m worried the 7/97 will make my hair too red? So I’m not sure whether to just use the 7/1, or whether I should mix the two colours together?

do any hair dressers have any advice on whether either of these colours will be suitable?

Your hair looks lovely as it is @Fyhbthng , don't dye it.

Your hair is honestly beautiful, it looks like you've had a decent balayage!

I've no advice regarding the colouring but just wanted to say I love your natural colour Smile

My hair goes brassy extremely easily so I just have the 7.1 on it but it is quite an ashy toner by itself. It depends what result you want and what colour/lift you already have on your hair.

My advice would be to do 2/3 7.1 with 1/3 7.97 but just do a smallish amount of your hair somewhere less noticeable as a patch test before doing the whole lot so you can see how it would turn out and adjust the formula accordingly.

If it does go too brassy then you can correct it over a few days/washes with a blue/purple shampoo. And if it goes too ashy I've had success with lemon juice on my hair in the sunshine for 10-15 minutes. Good luck!

If you've never dyed your hair please don't do it, your hair looks beautiful and in fab condition. X

7 will be way too dark. Ex hairdresser here. I'm a 7 for colouring and I' way darker then you. You look like a 9-10.

You are lucky to have hair like that! I wouldn’t touch it either.

Hmm looking at the pic on my PC I think it looks lighter in the picture than how it does in real life. The sun was shining on it. If you look in the right side of the picture you can see a darker colour and I'd say that's how it looks in real life. It's definitely a light brown rather than a dark blonde.

I haven't dyed my hair since I was a teenager and would have left it but I'm starting to get greys coming through, I'm in my late 20s and they make me feel insecure so I want to cover them!
