A facial moisturiser for a complete newbie

I'm 40 and never use any products at all. I don't wear makeup or moisturise. I never have.

I'm on holiday at the moment and have just put some moisturising suncream on. My face felt so different straightaway. It felt more 'awake', and I felt refreshed!

Is this a thing in moisturising, and if so, what do you recommend, please? I have no idea what I'm looking for and what I want it to do other than make me feel awake!

Thanks!

A really affordable entry point is the Vitamin E range at Superdrug. This product is a serum rather than a traditional moisturiser but it is very nourishing, moisturising and gentle, it should work with all different skin types. I apply it when my skin is still slightly damp and it feels and looks lovely.

I'm a bit of a skin care junkie and have lots of different products but this is one I always come back to.

At night I just use E45 on my face. Just the plain old all over body stuff. It says for face body and hands so that's good enough for me!

Last month in tesco, I flung a pot of simple moisturiser in my basket. Oh my days its amazing. Really light so you don't feel it, it dries in instantly and my face looks refreshed and radiant. Would highly recommend and it only cost a few pounds. Plus the magic it has worked on my black eye rings is sorcery.

I also have clairns double serum which is also amazing. For my body, hands etc I just use nivea blue pump bottle which is fab.

Once a week I also have a bath in Epsom salts.

Nivea white tub for me ... cheap as chips, thick but sinks right in, suits my sensitive skin.

Oh i love the elemis cleansing balm to wash my face in morning and at night. Can put it on at night and keep on overnight of skin is dry. Although expensive, the best ever moisturiser is Clinique. Honestly it's a miracle in a tub. So light and nice pot/colour. I love it.
