I've gone to wreck and ruin

Looking for help, and/or ideas

I took DC for the day yesterday When we got home I check pics we'd taken through the day.

Oh dear Lord, I look AWFUL. Actually awful.

I look pale and exhausted. I wasn't at all tired though. My hair looked like hay, even though I'd only washed it on the morning. The colour is my natural one, but looks very dull and unflattering.

And I feel flabby, even though I'm a size 6/8 and go to the gym 3x a week.

My clothes are old and boring. Jeans and a T-shirt.

Urgh, I feel beyond saving! How has this happened? I've aged ten years in 18 months

I feel your pain. I’m a size 8/10 and sometimes feel the same. I have my hair coloured and have nails done etc. I’ve started wearing more dresses both midi and mini to make me feel different instead of just the usual jeans etc. Still comfortable and casual as I wear them with wedges or pumps. Could you maybe treat yourself and have a colour or highlights or something. Im sure you don’t look awful at all, we just see ourselves like that sometimes and are way too critical of ourselves.

I think you're right @anon1968 we can be very harsh on ourselves.

I think I expect 25 year old me to look back when I look in the mirror, and instead I'm faced with 40 y/o mum of 2 instead!

But I'm intent on making the best of what I have so will get my finger out and book a gig and colour.

I saw so many women of my age, and with their children, yesterday who looked comfy and stylish. I really must learn how to pull this, seemingly impossible, feat off!!

You sound exactly like me 😂 though lots younger. Im 54🙈 I look at others and my friends and think why can I not look stylish and effortless like they do. Apparently I do tho and they feel the same about me so maybe it’s our confidence we need to work on lol.

TBHit depends on what you're wearing, I found this last month,I was wearing cropped trousers and a t-shirt with a denim jacket and I looked awful. A few days later I was wearing a shirred dress and I was told I looked stunning.
