Also it’s very thin but polyester, is that a nightmare?

Aesthetically it's absolutely fine. 100% polyester isn't the most comfortable fabric to wear though. Have you tried it on?

PurelyBelter · 25/05/2023 12:33

It’s a pretty colour and style but as PP said polyester is a nightmare. I grabbed a dress today didn’t have time to find anything else. I knew I would regret as it’s made me all sweaty and hot even though it’s not mega warm. If it’s a summer wedding you could end up regretting it

Reginaldperrin · 25/05/2023 12:44

I’ve tried it on, it’s super thin but don’t think I’ve worn polyester before. Have seen people saying how awful it is on here before so made me think twice.

Wedding this weekend and am panic buying!

Polyester is a sweaty material to wear but it's not absorbent so the sweat just trickles. So I personally avoid anything 100% poly. Having said that I know that horrible panicked feeling when you need to find something asap. So if you don't find anything else I'm sure it will do the job.

It looks fine, a pretty colour, you will probably feel a bit warm in it but it's only one day. Do you have a cotton slip you could wear under it, or buy one?

Reginaldperrin · 25/05/2023 14:21

A slip is a good idea!

If I buy it do you think black shoes would be best?

Also what could I wear over the top of a bit chilly?

Yes wear a slip underneath.
Do you have any shoes that aren't black? Metallic would be ideal

White or cream jacket if you think you might get cold/need to cover up.

Whataretheodds · 26/05/2023 16:45

M&S used to do excellent slips that were good for keeping cool /warm.

I'd try contrasting but bright shoes. Either fushia, turquoise, leaf green?

Reginaldperrin · 26/05/2023 21:30

I’ve got some silver pointed flats and some gold stewpot sandles. Also got some black strapped heels. I bought it becuase I ran out of time to get anything else!

I actually love it. I’d go gold accessories- chunky earrings and gold shoes with some gold bangles. Or even green earrings.
a nice white oversized blazer to wear on top of you need it too.

Reginaldperrin · 26/05/2023 22:33

Ok great, have gold accessories and going strapping old shoes. Thanks all!

Any1Else · 27/05/2023 03:59

@Theos one usually has to tap a photo as it appears on a thread to see the full picture the poster wanted to share …

Ha ha! You’re so right. I’m half asleep. Thank you
