Protecting bright hair colour?

I have bright purple hair. Semi-permanent dye over bleach highlights. The combination of styling and sun absolutely destroys it.

Anyone got any suggestions for products to keep the colour going for longer? I don’t have a head or job for hats.

Gently shampoo, wash as least often as you can. Also use cols water as it keeps the hair cuticle closed which helps prevent the colour washing out.

Can you also use a small blob of purple dye mixed in with your conditioner every other wash as that will also help keep the colour up.

*cold water

Already do that. Wash it twice a week. Cold water rinse.

Can try the dye in conditioner but as I only condition the mid lengths and ends it doesn’t get the top where the fade is most.

Is there any way you can cut down on heat styling at all? I assume you use a good heat protectant with the styling? Also, you can get hair SPF products that might help - not used them myself though.

I’m growing out a bob so foregoing heat styling completely isn’t really an option yet. I’ve lowered the heat though. And on the 3rd day I put the top up in a messy bun.

Heat protectant seems to be keeping hair healthy but I’m wondering about UV protection

Cold water wash
Add crazy colour to shampoo
Wash once a week.
