Rural French wedding in July

Black tie preferred… any ideas on dresses
for a guest? I’m a size 10, blonde, pale, want to cover the tops of my arms. Argh!

Is it definitely a black tie dress code?

I'm only asking because French weddings are usually a lot more casual than UK ones (I am French, from a fairly rural area)

Hello, left the thread hanging! Thanks for the replies - budget, don’t know… ideally up to £150 but would spend more on the right dress, maybe up to £200? Cheaper the better, really, but want to look the part.

Definitely “black tie preferred” and DH will be in black tie.

I LOVE the Ghost Delphine dress but need to try it on - and it’s definitely pricey… I found the other one (broken link) by googling and the arms are too exposed but also the cut would make my shoulders look huge, so probably not a winner there. I hadn’t heard of We Are Rewritten though so will check out the website.

Mmm well I just looked at all of Coast and the only one that I liked was this… Too much white or black or bright red, or no arm coverage, or look like they will be boiling hot in French July…

What colours would you prefer? Are you looking for full length sleeves / is sheer enough coverage?
