Help!! I need a dress for Saturday!!

Hi Mumsnet!

I've got a major problem... Im going to my DP's big family party on Saturday. I've met some before but not all - we are engaged but they all live far away so at least half have never seen me before. Desperately want to make a good impression!!

Have put on quite a bit of weight recently and am now a size 14 with a round tummy... slightly chunky legs and am 5"5. I have NOTHING to wear!! Can anyone help?!

It's in a posh pub function room and starts at 2pm and will go on until 9 so looking for something that can be worn in the day - thinking a dress?? Usually would go V neck, knee length and I've been analysed before as bright winter colours.

Ideally I'd like to get away with trainers as I think everyone else will be in flats/trainers although people will be dressed up a bit.

Can anyone help with some ideas - it would need to have next day delivery!!!

Do you have the trainers already? If yes what are they like?

With your time frame I would hit the Next website, huge choice of summer dresses and will be quick delivery.

I'm a bit obsessed with trainers so have loads - everything from converse, to all starts, dunks and Vejas

It’s a bit out there but I am 5’5, curvy with a tum and boobs. Also a dark winter and have just ordered this. I have the same dress in other colour ways- very versatile and flattering.

Aargh! That pink Kensington dress is so beautiful I just ordered it. FYI I do not need another dress…

I'm the same size and similar height, recently bought the nobodys child starlight dress. You can get a range of prints/ colours. Very flattering shape and available from a few places so you're likely to find one with next day delivery
