This kind of slouchy style, where can I shop for it?

I can spend but would rather not shop super high end. Most stuff on the market now is either high necked or cropped and square, and I really don't like the current silhouettes.
Most of all I would love some good quality scoop vests, tops, and a lovely slouchy cardi like in this photo. I can't locate anything like them anywhere! All cardi's now are either cropped, super long or chunky, sadly. I also don't like cardi's that come to the hip, I think they hang much nicer just below or at least covering the bum.

White Co used to do decent cashmere mix slouchy hoodies and cardi's but not recently alas.

Any pointers welcome, and I would also love to hear if there's anyone else who doesn't much like recent styles. I don't like anything in the shops this past few years at all and have purchased practically nothing!

Menswear! Most of my knitwear is from the men’s section.

LittleWhiteMoth · 17/05/2023 20:14

Thank you! I have just seen some nice scoop vests at both Wrap and Poetry. All reviews say huge sizing though.

I would love to buy men's but have narrow shoulders.

Try Forgotten Tribes.

GoodVibesHere · 17/05/2023 20:23

Gap is sometimes good for slouchy cardi's

LittleWhiteMoth · 17/05/2023 21:15

Thanks so much, lots to check out here.

Love the woolovers hoodie, wish it was a bit baggier and longer but the marl blue is perfect! Maybe get a size up, mm, I am tempted Smile

Poetry,Brora(sales can be good)and Pure

Free people are great for this sort of look, can be pricey but worth it!

LittleWhiteMoth · 17/05/2023 21:41

Will try Free People, thanks!

I love Poetry but nothing I ever like is in stock.

I have recently discovered Free People and Forgotten Tribe for this kind of style and I love them both, having to stop myself from buying everything

behaveasbefitsthesituationwillyas · 17/05/2023 22:00

Second Forgotten Tribes and Free People.

Also Uniqlo, I know boring, but they do some pieces that look quite similar to the ones in your pic, Op. I'd also suggest Etsy, but you'd have to shop around a bit.

I would love to buy men's but have narrow shoulders.

Try an XXS or XS from somewhere like Reiss or Zara.

Otherwise try Community Clothing or Rise & Fall.

Saint and Sofia have some slouchy, loose trousers like this. Toast is great for tops. I'm sure I've seen slouchy best tops at Next. Free people are lovely. Hush?

Floisme · 17/05/2023 22:23

Is that pic from when Jane Birkin did a collab with La Redoute? I bloody loved that collection!

I've got narrow shoulders too but I still wear men's cardigans - I like it that they're a bit big.

I also look out for second hand John Smedley longish v-necks in fine merino wool, a couple of sizes up from my usual. They have a sales section on their website too.

Discwriter · 17/05/2023 22:28

I love the slouchy/oversized look too so size up my cardis and jumpers. I'm usually a size 12 but buy size 18+. Uniqlo has some nice basics.

LittleWhiteMoth · 17/05/2023 22:35

Some great ideas here, will check out the suggestions!

I love Toast - on other people, but the boxy, thick fabric really doesn't do anything for me, nor do the usual colours. I think the Jane Birkin pic is more slouchy than Toast or COS, etc, and a more relaxed vibe. I don't know what I'd call it though, it's sort of like a minimal bohemian without any zany colours or patterns.

I got a couple of linen vest-tops from La Redoute that would be slouchy like your original pic, if you sized up one or two sizes. They hang nicely

minipie · 17/05/2023 22:47

I love Poetry and Free people stuff but it drowns me - I’m a 6/8 on top with narrow shoulders, if you’re the same OP you may also find it swamps you.

I got some nice linen and cotton vests recently from Boden. I also tried the H&M linen ones which were much cheaper but sadly see through.

Will look up the La Redoute suggestion, I’ve had nice linen Ts from there before.

I suspect they are a good bet for loose cardis too as they are not a slave to trends. Esprit is also worth a look and agree Pure is too.

LittleWhiteMoth · 17/05/2023 23:07

Are Wrap London oversized too? I really like the linen vest and they do a 6..

Never tried Wrap, I would also be interested to know if they come up large
