I've always worn foundation and powder, from being around age 16 to now, age 53.

I'm finding that this combination is now too much for my ageing skin and would like to find a decent tinted moisturiser for day to day use.

I tried some Nivea tinted moisturiser (cheap I know) and found that it was just as heavy and pigmented as foundation, I want something lighter that doesn't necessarily put a layer of colour on my skin but just gives me a bit of a glow.

I've always worn a full face of makeup, every single day (unless ill or not leaving the house) for almost 40 years.. foundation, powder, blusher, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, lipliner and lipstick.. the lot! I'd like to tone it right down to tinted moisturiser, mascara and a natural looking lipgloss. I'm sick of the rigmarole and the time it takes (at least an hour every morning before work).

Please could you help me find a tinted moisturiser. My skin is pale with a tendency to redness, normal skin type (neither greasy nor dry). My price range would have to be £20 or less.

Thanks in advance.

I wear Dr Sam tinted Spf then Erborian on top. Gives really flawless glow

Bohemond · 17/05/2023 21:16

Boots No 7 restore and renew serum foundation is light and works brilliantly on 50s skin.

Starlightstarbright1 · 17/05/2023 21:18

I use Olay bb cream very moisturising

gettingolderbutcooler · 17/05/2023 21:21

Garnier bb tinted moisturiser x

Typology tinted serum. So hydrating, lovely sheer coverage. I'm on my third bottle!

standardduck · 17/05/2023 21:25

Lumene skin tint is great. But it is very lightweight, it really does add just a tiny bit of colour.

Frieda12 · 17/05/2023 21:36

Rimmel kind skin tint is very good and cheap! Very narrow range of shades but if you can find one that suits you I’d definitely recommend it

CakeWarrior · 17/05/2023 21:51

My sister introduced me to this tinted one and omg game changer for me as it means I dont need concealer or foundation 🙈 and its vegan and uk made so i feel i am supporting British businesses but thats just me x

Estée Lauder daywear tinted. It’s got spf and looks like you but better. I buy it on repeat

CombatBarbie · 17/05/2023 22:04

I'm using garnier anti age BB cream with spf which I really like.

Apparently N7 tinted moisturizer is very good. I'd say Nars as that gets the most accolades but it's spendy.

Came here to say this. The N7, city tint or whatever it's called

Crikeyalmighty · 17/05/2023 22:07

I like the brand - IT

WithIcePlease · 17/05/2023 22:11

No7 city whatever tinted moisturiser gets my vote too
Nars tinted moisturiser too - but a bit more foundationy
Tbh the pigment content of the Nars one means that less is needed so cost difference may be small

Pissedoffandcovidy · 17/05/2023 22:29

I use Nars, but started out with morphe glow stunner, which I think very good for the price.

JaffaCake70 · 18/05/2023 18:52

Thank you for your help everyone 🙂

I really like the Trinny bff serum. Really good colour matching and feels lovely too

MuddaUdders · 18/05/2023 19:02

I too like Nars tinted moisturiser and Bare Minerals. Added SPF is crucial for me no matter what the weather is up to! Both are over budget though.. I use Origins Ginzing with SPF in a frequent basis because it's extremely light in consistency

Christmascracker0 · 18/05/2023 19:11

I love the Nars one - it’s the best I’ve tried.

The IT Cosmetics one is highly rated but I found it a bit sticky personally.

ErnestCelendine · 18/05/2023 20:20

Another vote for Nars

95percentcocoa · 18/05/2023 20:41

I love this too. A bit over budget but good price with the discount and a little goes a long way.

KiwiMum2023 · 18/05/2023 20:44

How’s it taking a whole hour to do your makeup? <misses point>

SilverGlitterBaubles · 18/05/2023 20:45

Lancôme Soleil bronzer BB cream with SPF50 gives a lovely summer glow.

BadNomad · 18/05/2023 20:48

I just mix a tiny bit of my normal foundation into a couple of squirts of moisturiser then put that on. It goes on smoother if you've already moisturised.

That is an excellent point!

OP my make up routine takes about 5 minutes:

  • rub in tinted moisturiser with fingers (might buff it in with a brush too)
  • tiny bit of concealer under eyes and blemishes
  • tinted gel on eyebrows
  • mascara
  • tiny bit of blusher or bronzer
