Please help me and my big red nose!!!!

I have had a few skin issues in my face over the past year, Dr can't get to the bottom of it but thinks it's possibly rosacea.
I've managed to get it cleared up on my cheeks and forehead by using raw coconut oil every night after I cleanse, but my nose is just always red.
I use full cover foundation, and concealer on my nose, but nothing sticks to it!! So eventually the makeup slips off and I'm left with a big red nose, especially the tip of it. I'm assuming it's because I am rubbing at it (hayfever) or my nose is quite oily so the product doesn't stick.

Can someone recommend a concealer/primer or even a foundation that stays put, but won't look cakey. I'm 40 so matte foundations are starting to look cakey on me.
I should say I don't use coconut oil on my nose as that would make it even worse I think.

Help!

Ask your doctor for Soolantra. It completely cleared my rosacea and I haven't needed to use it in ages.

Chewbecca · 17/05/2023 16:27

Just what I was going to say - have you tried Soolantra? It worked for me.

wildfirewonder · 17/05/2023 16:29

If you've had success with coconut oil elsewhere I think it is strange not to try it on your nose. How could it make things worse than the way you describe your nose now?!!

IrishMamaMia · 17/05/2023 19:55

The Dr Jart Cicapair is good. Covers and soothes.

The rest of my face was dry and flakey but my nose has always been oily and red, not sure the coconut will help with that

Another one recommending Soolantra. Has been life changing for me.

Personally I'd try it as you've not much to lose, but hopefully the other recommendations will work. Good luck!

Soolantra is worth a try.

CeraVe moisturiser is fantastic and Estee Lauder double wear foundation works a treat applied with a buffer brush. I think most make up will slide off of you're using oil though.

Thighdentitycrisis · 17/05/2023 23:17

I have a red nose too OP but my skin is pretty good

I don’t often wear makeup but if I do I’ll use a green primer/ base on my nose, chin and cheeks

NotMeSecretFormular · 17/05/2023 23:24

Green coloured concealer, skin coloured concealer, foundation and then powder is what works for me. Reapply half way through the day. Repowder as required.

JackyinaTracky · 18/05/2023 00:36

sorry OP I know you were asking for advice on concealer (and not asking armchair doctors on internet to diagnose the cause) but have you been tested for lupus? My friend was diagnosed after visiting the doc with a red nose… it was a weird symptom that stuck in my mind.

Erborian Red Correct

supercatlady · 18/05/2023 00:54

I use Rosalique to reduce redness - it’s really good. I then use Phoera foundation.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 18/05/2023 07:59

The only thing I'd suggest with the Rosalique is to get a sample first,it made me look like a Simpson and bright yellow but works well for a friend of mine! I get on a bit better with the Eborian one but don't think I'd repurchase.

Peridot1 · 18/05/2023 08:03

Another Soolantra vote from me. Def sorted out my rosacea.

And then Eborian CC Red Correct. I didn’t get on with the Rosalique either @MrsPelligrinoPetrichor - looked like an oompah-loompa! But I really like the Eborian.
