Is there a magic cream to tighten eye bags?!

My eyes look awful! Hooded lids and baggy skin underneath that doesn't shift even when I do get enough sleep!
I end up wearing foundation and concealer every day, and I'd rather not - the rest of my skin is ok (for my age!) but I just feel so conscious of my eye bags.

I realise that fillers or surgery are the only things that might make an actual difference ... but is there an affordable cream that might just tighten everything up temporarily?

(Please excuse the terrifying photos!)

Preparation H.

JofraArchersFastestBall · 16/05/2023 09:31

Does that actually work @Nousernamesleftatall ?! I thought it might be an urban legend!

I use prep H all the time . Be very careful using it around your eye , it's a cell shrinker so you don't want to get any in your eye.

Crispymandm · 16/05/2023 09:41

I used inky list caffeine eye cream and was impressed with the results. Did nothing for darkness though.

I've just bought power Rewind by IL makiage . Can't believe how good it is

JofraArchersFastestBall · 16/05/2023 17:46

Wow, that power IL makiage one does look good, but it's a bit over my usual budget.

I'll get the inkey list one (and some preparation h for comparison) and see if that helps 🤞 thank you for your suggestions everyone.

Amanda Holdens eye cream with Revolution is amazing

Malariahilaria · 16/05/2023 17:50

I know its not quite what you're asking but mine looked similar so after years of clever concealer and trying every cream I had them removed. It was over 10 years ago and I'm so glad I did it. People had been asking me since my teens if I was tired and now I'm heading for 50 I look so much fresher. I appreciate it's not for everyone though.

Yeah it is, I had to close my eyes when pressing the buy button! Let us know how you get on with the ones you order. I might have to save this for special occasions!

I haven't tried it myself, but the videos for Peter Thomas Roth Instant FirmX eye look impressive.

Coffeeandcards · 16/05/2023 19:37

I use this, it’s brilliant and lasts a year or so using it every day:

Boots No 7 Future Renew Eye Serum is good. Best used with the facial serum and the facial cream from the same range but it can be used alone.

Tomasinabombadil · 21/05/2023 17:48

Following for recommendations too, I have the same issues as OP.💐

This

AbreathofFrenchair · 21/05/2023 17:54

Occuwake from Face theory.

Reduced my bags, though I didn't notice straight away. It's also reduced the lines between my eyes and the fine lines at the corner of my mouth

BreatheAndFocus · 21/05/2023 18:50

Could there be some kind of allergy or intolerance exacerbating things? My (much younger than me) relative had very similar bags but found out it was a very specific intolerance to an innocuous face product she was using. She spent weeks eliminating things and re-introducing them. I’m not saying this is your problem but it could be contributing as your eyes look so much like hers.

You could also try the Superdrug Vitamin C roll on which is very soothing, Revitalift eye cream or Clinique All About Eyes, if you fancy spending more

JofraArchersFastestBall · 21/05/2023 19:09

That's an interesting point about allergies, I'll have a think about it, thank you.

I've bought the inkey list caffeine cream, and coincidentally, the face theory one that @AbreathofFrenchair just recommended because I had some points to spend. I think I'm looking a bit better (although a weekend in the sun - obviously with spf 50! - might also have helped.)

Now I'm off to ponder my wonky eyelids 🫣 thanks for all the product suggestions (and for the advice about surgery and allergies). I'll revisit this thread next time I feel terrible about my bags!

I actually think your eyes are beautiful! Hopefully that doesn't sound too creepy Grin How old are you?

It's so easy to focus on the things you don't like (I myself spend far too long staring at my own eyelashes Blush) but genuinely my first thought when I saw your photos was what a lovely eye colour, not that you look "hoody" or "baggy" - you really don't.

CriticalAlert · 21/05/2023 19:24

I think you look great. I mean that. You should see the state of me. I've got blepharitis and my left eye is a swollen mess. I can't use any of my lifesaver eye creams because they increase irritation.

mulberrybag · 21/05/2023 19:27

That's a remarkable improvement! & echo the previous poster re your eyes, they're beautiful

MuddaUdders · 21/05/2023 19:43

You look lovely - with or without the magic cream!

myrtleWilson · 21/05/2023 20:02

You look fab! - Am now re-reading thread for pointers! I use the il makiage foundation so am going to dig about to see if I can get a discount code on an additional product...

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 21/05/2023 20:43

OP that is a huge change! Wow. /off to buy everything you used
