What are you all wearing during the day?

It’s too warm for jeans and jumpers and too cold for summer dresses so what is everyone wearing for general smart casual day wear?

I’ve got a few pairs of light (linen like) trousers and tops from fat face. That’s me until dress time.

CharlotteRumpling · 15/05/2023 22:34

Wideleg trousers and fitted top or blouse with a trench coat.

Thighdentitycrisis · 15/05/2023 23:35

Jeans and jumper in London

33goingon64 · 15/05/2023 23:39

Definitely not too warm for jumpers here (SE England).

Crazy8 · 16/05/2023 00:52

I’m in need of some new clothes in that case! I also never know what shoes to wear during in between season. I’m a boots in winter and flip flops in summer person.

Soft linen or jersey dungarees with decent tee shirt and Birkenstock Bostons. I'm 100% about comfort Grin

stillbejeweled · 16/05/2023 02:16

Jeans and cotton trousers with T-shirts and shirts.
I am wearing summer dresses too, it was 18 here today so plenty warm enough.

Trainers mostly but have braved the Birkenstocks. I'm mainly put off by not being able to drive in them. I just keep them in the car now along with half my wardrobe.

ThePoshUns · 16/05/2023 04:34

Still in jeans and jumpers. So bored of it.

TakeMe2Insanity · 16/05/2023 05:11

Also in jeans and jumpers, struggling though as 12 weeks pregnant and clothes are getting tight maternity clothes are too big and too cold for dresses that fit.

EarringsandLipstick · 16/05/2023 05:26

I'm wearing summer dresses but more longer dresses than short.

Shoes are loafers, platform sandals, open-toed heels.

Also wearing skinny & wide legged trousers in light/bright colours e.g. white, bright red with shirts / tees & blazer.

Oh and also, vests with light cardigan over.

My problem is coats - have several light summer trenches but they are too much over a blazer but I need the blazer during the day so I end up being cold on the way to work often.

HappiDaze · 16/05/2023 05:28

I was wearing a dress all day in doors but later on went out in jeans and sweatshirt and I was melting and got back all hot and sweaty

Now is the time for layers

I'll not make that mistake again

I bought thin bloody cardigans recently so this wouldn't happen but I underestimated the warmth outside today.

Same, I spent all day in a dress and then went out in a jumper and jeans as I was cold when I opened the front door and checked the temperature outside. By the time I came I home I was so hot and uncomfortable.

Still too cold to Change out of wool trousers and cashmere v neck here. Not far from London about 12 degrees

Sparkletastic · 16/05/2023 07:52

Not too warm for jeans, jumpers and trainers in the 'sunny' SE.

NatashaDancing · 16/05/2023 08:23

In Scotland - dresses in heaver/ thicker material sometimes with a long sleeved thermal vest under and/or cardigan, jacket/ coat or raincoat as appropriate.

I never wear anything other than dresses. I don't own trousers or jeans.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 16/05/2023 08:31

Yesterday it was very pleasant where I am. Bit of a nip in the wind but sunny. I wore a long jersey dress, Converse high tops and a cotton work jacket. Today promises to be similar to that'll be jeans, a top, sandals and probably my jacket again.

pizzaHeart · 16/05/2023 08:45

Jeans and thinner cotton sweatshirt, thinking about buying thinner jeans. Cotton trousers maybe? I’ve gained weight and in between sizes so struggle to find a suitable one for myself but some of them look a good option.
Its quite annoying weather: very warm and sunny sandwiched between cold and even rain.

Unbridezilla · 16/05/2023 08:48

I'm in linen blend wide leg trousers and jumpers. The linen is much lighter than denim so stats cool, but the jumper stops me from being too cold.

Or a midi denim skirt. Heavyweight material but enough "waft" to stay cool

TheOGCCL · 16/05/2023 09:00

I wear jeans all through the summer. I only quite realised last year during those two really hot days how different my body temperature is to a lot of people.

At the moment if it’s on the cooler side, I’m wearing chinos, a top, a viscose cardigan and a trench coat, with a lightweight scarf. In the SE. My concession is no more boots or socks so am wearing leather look plimsolls. If I get my feet right I tend to be fine but find shoes the trickiest as some of mine are not waterproof. If it’s sunnier the same but instead of the cardigan and coat, just a single thicker cardigan or oversized blazer.

Bananah · 16/05/2023 09:15

Cotton trousers, tshirt or blouse with a sweater or cardigan on top. Basically the same as in winter but I’m more likely to take the top layer off now it’s a bit warmer. Winter boots have been swapped for brogues on smart days and trainers on casual days. Socks are still firmly on. Woolly hat and scarf have been ditched. Thick winter coat has been replaced with a light trench coat.

Cantonet · 16/05/2023 09:18

Khaki Protected species tour jacket with a Cornflower blue muslin top & a vest underneath.Soft jogger type jeans with leopard loafers. I walked the dog yesterday evening & was absolutely freezing in a surprisingly chilly wind.

IhearyouClemFandango · 16/05/2023 09:19

It was 20 degrees here yesterday. Today I'm in wide legged cropped jeans, a short sleeved top and Birkenstocks

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 16/05/2023 09:50

12 degrees and drizzle here. I’ve not been out of opaque tights this year and it is making me so sad.

CindersAgain · 16/05/2023 09:52

WFH, jeans, shirt and cardigan.
Weekends, jeans and am a bit stuck if o want to get out of sweatshirts. Light coloured thin jumper?

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 16/05/2023 10:04

Dresses, tights, boots and cardigans if needed. Wore leggings and a tunic at the weekend.
