What size are you at uniqlo

And is it the size that you would describe yourself in real life?!

Just got some large joggers delivered and I’m a size 12! Not “large” as such

is it because Japanese people are generally a lot smaller? I know that’s a stereotype but still?

Yes I went in Japan and got a pair of trousers that were large and fit me perfectly. I'm a size 10-12. Japanese ladies tend to be smaller than Europeans.

Theos · 13/05/2023 13:55

It’s not good for your self-esteem is it?

Doggymummar · 13/05/2023 13:58

So long as it fits it doesn't matter what the label says to me.

Doyoumind · 13/05/2023 13:58

Yes, their sizes are very small. 14 is XL. So I guess 16 would be XXL.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/05/2023 14:16

I'm a UK 16

I have some Uniqlo TShirts in Large , blouse in L and XL (Large fits better)
If I buy a coat I need XL to give me enough shoulder streych when I'm driving

The only trousers I have are a L (12-14 lower half)

FANCHEA · 13/05/2023 14:43

I'm usually size 8. I'm either xs or s at uniqlo. Their sizing isn't always consistent. Trouser waists on collabs eg innes range, are teeny tiny, so Ive been higher sizes then. Agree with pp that the numbers are pretty meaningless as brands vary so much. The marni collab was so oversized I was definitely xs....The quality with uniqlo makes all the fannying about with sizing worth it, IMO, even the cost of returns.

Tiggy321 · 13/05/2023 14:49

Have 2 coats - 1 is L, 1 is M. Both à great fit. I bought a Breton style t shirt and went for large - it's too big ! I normally am a standard M but know Uniqlo comes up smaller 🤷‍♀️

Niftythrifter · 13/05/2023 14:54

I have an Innes blouse which is an xs and a flannel in a 6 (I think) and I would agree that the sizing is right for my items.

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 13/05/2023 14:56

I'm a 12/14 and a large in their ladies clothes. Their fleeces and jumpers I have to buy mens M or the arms are too short.

Greengreented · 13/05/2023 14:56

I bought Uniqlo trousers just last week, I ordered my normal size and they’re really too big on me, I was surprised.

Stillwearingskinnies · 13/05/2023 14:59

I'm a bit smaller than a 10 and bought some skinny jeans in a S. They are snug but I've kept them as they'll no doubt give a little

thenewaveragebear1983 · 13/05/2023 15:02

I find the opposite, I think the sizes are really generous. I am a big bottomed 10-12 and I wear their shorts in a 10 and the cuffs of the shorts are really generous in comparison to the waist so they don’t just look like cycling shorts like every other pair of shorts I have tried on in years

TheOGCCL · 13/05/2023 15:04

I think Uniqlo is all over the place, I don’t take any notice of the sizes on the garments but have a branch 10 mins away so don’t buy online.

SirVixofVixHall · 13/05/2023 15:06

I am a size 12, sometimes closer to a 10, sometimes veering towards a 14 as my weight goes up and down. In Uniqlo I am most often a Medium, but sometimes a Large. I am busty and on things with no give, there isn’t always enough room for comfort in the medium.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 13/05/2023 15:10

I'm a size 18/20 and I'm XXL in tops and stretchy trousers and an XL in their bra-top vests. However, I'm biggest on the waist which is where their size is generous, they are good for apple shapes. I think technically I'm a 12/14 on the hips, 16 on the bust/shoulders and around a 22 on the waist but I always end up wearing an 18/20 in clothing that is forgiving around the tummy.

shopyourwardrobe · 14/05/2023 08:22

I'm a size 14 and take the XL.

aramox1 · 14/05/2023 08:36

M or L as a 12/14. But the garment measurements are super useful. I wish more shops did this!

DiDonk · 14/05/2023 08:40

Mens sizing also weird - ds1 is 185cm and slim - he is a medium or 28/34 in trousers, ds 2 180cm, v v slim also a medium except in trousers where even the 28/34s are too big at the waist.

IdentifyWithNotAs · 14/05/2023 08:41

It’s not very consistent. I’m a size 12 or a medium in most shops but in Uniqlo mostly buy a Large. However I’m small busted so tops can often fit well as a Medium. Large dresses from there often swamp me so if it’s a loose style I’ll size down. As I have a large rear/hips I find the trousers fit well USUALLY but had to return some Large joggers that were simply enormous 🤷🏼‍♀️

KatRee · 14/05/2023 08:49

I'm normally a size 10 and I have recently bought quite a bit from Uniqlo- leggings, fleece, pyjamas, joggers. I've got everything in a size M and am really happy with the fit. I'm 5'4 and length-wise it fits well too, whereas I normally find things elsewhere are way too long in the leg

KatRee · 14/05/2023 08:51

Also, I'm very pear-shaped so probably more like a 12/14 on the hips

WhereAreWeNow · 14/05/2023 09:59

I find them generally generous but a bit inconsistent.
I'm 10 on bottom, 8 on top and I'm 5"8ish.
In Uniqlo I wear XS or S knitwear and stretchy tops/t-shirts. S for things with no give like shirts. I find their trousers tricky. Often the S is tighter on my bum than I'd like but the M is too big. And they're too short.
I really like Uniqlo but you do have to be prepared to try on several sizes and if you're ordering online that means paying for returns.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 14/05/2023 10:03

When ever I do the size checker thing on their website they insist I'm a Medium, but when I order that size it's too big, I need the Small.

I'm a size 10 in most places, size 8 occasionally.

IHeartMac · 14/05/2023 10:14

I think the sizing is unpredictable. I find the leggings trousers quite small fitting, I’m a 10/12 and medium feels too snug, large is too big.

I’m size 10 on top and I have a coat that’s an XS which is very roomy 🤷🏻‍♀️

MedievalMadness · 14/05/2023 12:46

It depends on the style. I've a coat which is sx but it's really oversized. In lounge trousers I'm a M but L is fine too. Tops I'm either M to L . In RL I'm a 12/14
