I'm only invited in the evening, which is fine, I didn't expect to be invited at all if I'm honest and I know lots.of other people only invited for the evening. It will be a fun do.

But, I don't really know what you wear as an evening guest. Presumably not a pastel wedding outfit. Also don't want to spend loads on something I won't wear again.

I like this and think I'd wear it for Christmas parties afterwards. I like the other colours too, but they don't have my size.

Tbh I've only ever heard the red dress at weddings thing on MN. How much does it really matter for a fringe guest?

Why can't you wear a red dress to a wedding? I've never heard it's wrong ever.

I've never heard anyone mention it irl, but if you Google it (or ask MN) there are various reasons why yiu shouldn't ranging from not distracting attention from the bride to it apparently being a signal that you slept with the groom. Also lots of articles saying it's fine.

MN is bonkers about what you can wear at a wedding. Meanwhile in the real world,unless you are wearing a wedding dress as a guest no one cares about the weird MN wedding guest rules.

I can sort of see not wearing red for a wedding (I've not heard it as a rule, but it's not the sort of thing I'd think of. I sang at a lot of weddings in the 80s, and I don't think many people were wearing red). However, the rules for the evening do are totally different.

That is a gorgeous dress. I'd go for the green myself but that's purely down to my colouring. Definitely a celebratory dress, without screaming for attention.

Can't help on the shoes, I'm afraid - my feet are such that "able to wear them without falling over" is my bar...
