Just found out today I'm going. I have nothing suitable. Budget is fairly limited - 100-150 pounds?

I'm middle aged, short, size 16.

Quite like this but think it probably won't suit me. I have visions of looking like Florence Pugh and then remember I'm pushing 50! 😂

If your short don't order a long dress unless it's in petite. That dress is a bit fussy. You'd be better off with a simple black dress it's more flattering

Look online, I've used amazon, simply be, silk Fred, ever pretty. Generally you go up a size for evening wear. Petite is harder to find so I often have to take them up
