I can't get my head around jeans styles

I spotted someone wearing jeans that fitted nicely around bum, then looser through thighs tapering to ankle where the hem was rolled up but still below ankle.

What cut could this be and where would I find them?

I bought a pair of MOM jeans from NEXT, but mine stop around the ankle. I don't care if this is on trend or not, I prefer my jeans a bit longer. I don't think buying a longer length would make much of a difference.

Balloon cut is the shape.

Yes, I thinks that's it. But I can't see them in high street shops. Are they a bit passé now? Any ideas where I could easily get hold of a pair ?

M&S do some. As PP has mentioned, the Lucy & Yak Danas are the same shape (I'm a big fan).

Sorry, I'm no help on where to get them on the high street, I tend to make my own.

if you are handy with a sewing machine I can recommend a couple of good patterns?

cloudberry · 09/05/2023 21:00

@pastabest I would be very interested in your patterns please 😊

Whistles. Benneton. Just Google carrot jeans or balloon jeans.

@pastabest I would be very interested in your patterns please 😊

For proper jeans I use the slouchy version of the I AM patterns Sunshine jeans. Most pictures when you Google that pattern are of the tapered version but there is a slouchy/balloon version as well which I love - Instagram is your friend on that one.

I've made Sunshines so far in corduroy, a few in mid blue denim and most recently a pair in dark selvedge denim/unhemmed which look really cool.

For the same shape but elasticated trousers rather than jeans I've just made a pair of Style Arc Bob Pants.

Cos do them, Raey too. Zara have loads. They're everywhere, definitely not passé in the least.

Fantastic. Thank you so much @pastabest

Ah. Thank you all so much. And thank you @pastabest. I am handy with a machine but was hoping to buy a quick pair before my weekend away. I'll definitely have a look at those patterns and give them a go. 😊
