Dress for casual registry office civil ceremony

I bought this dress for a friend’s wedding in a lovely hotel last year. Have now been invited to a low key, casual civil ceremony with family. I feel nice in it (apart from having to wear tights and low heeled sandals) and would like to get good use from it. Is it too formal? How could I dress it down? What would you do?

I think that’s lovely for the wedding you’ve described. I’m sure people will still be wearing nice outfits, even though it’s low key.

I've just been to a wedding like that - I think that dress is perfect for it.

It's perfect. Dress it down with no tights and flat sandals.
