What are you supposed to put on under foundation?

I have a quite expensive foundation. Maybe lancome, I can't remember. It looks okay for about 5 minutes but isn't very forgiving about the quality of my skin condition. My skin is oily and I'm not much into preening. Any recommendations of something I can put on as a first layer? Thank you. Even better if I can buy it off amazon.

I'd say it's about your skin routine rather than a miracle primer. What do you use to wash and moisturise?

Inca22 · 07/05/2023 21:53

I'd say primer as this happens to me when I don't use it. The one on Beauty Pie is excellent. I also use Revolution setting spray (super cheap) but my daughter made up my face once and she used it on me - I've never looked back!

Bobby brown face base is amazing! Definitely give it a go, don’t be put off by the price. If you shop around you can often find deals on it or use a cash back app ☺️ it the holy grail in my make up bag.

Whats the difference between a face base and a primer?

Does the spray not feel sticky?

I don't have oily skin but when I went to a wedding in a humid climate last year I used UD setting spray under foundation then on top and it lasted well.

Maybe try a mattifying primer underneath?

I use this under my foundation. I also use the Chanel hydra one. Please don’t believe the hype - it’s no different to any light moisturiser. I’ve not noticed any difference to when I used cheapy Neutrogenia or Simple ones.

@coodawoodashooda it really isn't sticky.

This is the one I use www.revolutionbeauty.com/uk/en/makeup/face/setting-spray/revolution-glow-fix-illuminating-setting-spray/20276.html

Just spray, and then fan (I use an old bday card).

It's revolutionary. I didn't realise I touch my face a lot during the day, and this keeps my make up on and looking fresh.

And this is the primer I use

Thank you. I feel a bit nervous about it!
