Bridesmaid Dress Colors?

Hi all!

Wedding is in late August and pretty much everything is already sorted. My dress is bought and husband-to-be’s suit is awaiting alterations but otherwise sorted. Flowers, music, food, etc all done

but I’m struggling with bridesmaid dress colors!!! My 3 bridesmaids are wonderful and will wear whatever I want them to, but I want them to feel lovely on the day too, so I’m overthinking this a bit.

which one of these colors would you pick for a bridesmaid dress? The wedding colors are quite simple (white, cream, gold and black) so just looking for what color would tie into those nicely. I’m partial to blue and gold, and so love the whole “something blue” being my bridesmaids as they’re all family and we’re very close but just not sure

I like the blue. Are you set on this style? It is quite clingy and revealing so obviously depends on your bridesmaids

No, not set on this style. I plan on letting the girls choose whatever style they feel best in. It’s just the colors I was focusing on

The blue

Ask them which they’d prefer. If they’d want to pick a style and colour they could wear again on a date or whatever in the future?

I’d choose black as it is classy and can be worn again on another occasion.

I always think it’s a shame to buy a dress and only wear it once! If they wear it later they will think of your fab wedding day too.

The blue - really pretty and I love that they would be your “something blue”!

Findyourneutralspace · 03/05/2023 19:12

I love the blue but would probably choose a different style as I think the satin would show every lump and bump. Something more matt and floaty would be gorgeous though.

Im getting married in July and my bridesmaids are in a similar blue but more of a sky blue, it suits everyone whereas the pink and champagne colours tend to flush everyone out unless they are very slim and blonde. Blue is the better choice.

LittleFreakJezebel · 03/05/2023 19:21

That blue is lovely

If you are choosing a different dress altogether in the fabric and shape then I would wait to see what colours / shades it’s in then choose. I always think that some dresses just don’t look their best in some colours, but the same shade looks beautiful on a different dress.

Here’s some more styles and different shades. The white dress is very similar to my wedding dress, just to give an idea of my own style.

I know some are saying to ask the girls but I already have, and they’ve all said they’ll wear whatever I want. I almost wish one would be stroppy so I have an idea 😂😂😂

My adult bridesmaid wore a black dress for my summer wedding as it guaranteed she'd wear the dress again

Smartiepants79 · 03/05/2023 20:22

The blues are nice but for your colour scheme I prefer pinks.
Navy and gold look lovely but not if you’ve got black as well? Not a huge fan of the other blues with gold myself. All the styles you’ve picked are very elegant.

dragonwithwings · 03/05/2023 20:49

The teal one

gluenotsoup · 03/05/2023 21:08

Is it the actual white lace dress that is similar to your own? It’s beautiful.
With that, and the colour scheme I would choose the pink one 😍
