Are either of these suitable for this occasion?

I'm sponsor at my nephew's Confirmation later this month. Having never been to one (as an adult), I've no idea what to wear.

Can anyone who has been tell me if either of these would be okay to wear?

I obviously want to look like I've made an effort, but I don't want to look overdressed.

I'd wear either one with lower block heeled sandals, I think.

Andy advice welcome.

I've been to a few confirmations. I think either of these would be perfect. Hope it's a lovely occasion

sadtoday1 · 30/04/2023 15:36

I prefer the green outfit. Would be nice with gold accessories?

Belmondo · 30/04/2023 15:38

I think either would be fine - christenings vary quite a bit in terms of outfits. I've seen quite formal/dressy/almost wedding-like attire and also very everyday outfits (ironically it seems to be the regular churchgoers who dress more casually).

TokyoSushi · 30/04/2023 15:39

Both perfect, slight preference for the green

awaaaayyego · 30/04/2023 15:56

Thank you!

I have ordered both now. If they fit, I will wear the second one to my niece's Holy Communion, also this month.

Christenings are quite dressy where I am, and for the Communion there is a wee party afterwards, but this was a complete unknown to me!

How high are the heels? You will need to have sufficient gap between the hem and the ground or your legs will look short. I like the one on thr right best.

awaaaayyego · 30/04/2023 20:08

I haven't bought anything yet, but something like these

Love the green one @awaaaayyego - where is it from please?

TolkiensFallow · 30/04/2023 20:13

That would be perfect, the green is nicer in my opinion

nofusspot · 30/04/2023 20:21

Depending on your legs I would try the bottom pair for me personally as I am quite short in the leg.

They look a really nice idea for the occasion!

Hello.

The jumpsuits have arrived, so looking for opinions on whether, being short and square, I can get away with wearing them...

Not sure if they are a tad too long?

The crotch on the patterned one seems weirdly low, hence picture. Not sure how noticeable that would be otherwise.

Ignore the shoes. Wouldn't be wearing those.

Thanks!

Love the green one. I would return the patterned one - that crotch is not working.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 03/05/2023 13:32

I love the green one. You look fab!

awaaaayyego · 03/05/2023 13:57

Thank you both.

I think a lower heel is going to unbalance things. I don't have any lower heels to compare just now.

If I can make the green one work, I might just ordered it in the plum colour and return the patterned on.

Do you think an inch off the legs would work with lower heels? And can a crotch be altered?

OP posts:
PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 03/05/2023 14:07

Lower heels = how low?
I do think that a slightly lower leg would probabpy balance them, yes.
You could also wear them with a high but chunky heel.

You could try to have the patterned one altered. Do you absolutely love it? I personally don't, tbh. (I'd send that one back. And would probably buy the purple one...😁)

awaaaayyego · 03/05/2023 14:39

Lower like these?

Are you saying I'd need a longer trouser leg for lower heels? I was thinking a shorter leg.

I don't love anything I wear these days Blush I'm just a lazy shopper and for £20 and an alteration fee, if it looks passable I might just keep for the sake of wearing it for half a day, mostly sat on my bum Grin

The green one is lovely. I'm sponsor in a couple of weeks and hadn't given a thought as to what to wear yet. Bollocks.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 03/05/2023 14:50

Shorter leg, lower heel.

Longer leg, higher heel. Oops 😬

I would love the green one if I was you. You look really great in that one.

ankle straps tend to cut off my legs (and I really can't afford to lose any leg length), which would probably make the leg ratio/balance issue worse... but they do look great on some people 👍

bizzey · 03/05/2023 16:34

OP can I ask where you got them from .
They are lovely and I have been on the look out for something similar.

Don't worry ...not for a confirmation in a few weeks 😂!!

awaaaayyego · 03/05/2023 17:10

@bizzey they're both from AX Paris.
